General Accounting & Reconciliation Team Leader

The Opportunity:

Responsible for providing general accounting services, including cost accounting, journal entries, cash flow management, general ledger processing, reconciliations, reporting, and tax support. Ensures accuracy and compliance with accounting standards in financial records and reports. May prepare financial statements for internal and external use. As a Team Leader, supervises professional staff, sets team goals, and ensures that policies, procedures, and operational standards are properly followed.

How you'll made an impact:

• Lead, motivate and develop Financial Reporting Team.
• People manager, including staffing & selection, integration, facilitating technical/functional training, measuring individual and team performance, providing feedback, counseling and coaching as needed.
• Ensuring compliance with Group and Statutory standards, regulations and guidelines local GAAP and IFRS accounting policies.
• Manage escalated issues and provide support to external and internal customers.
• Drive independent simplification / continuous improvement initiatives and issues resolutions and support continuous process improvement with Global Process Owner e.g. optimization of processes & workflows, maintaining process documentation.
• Driving the development and implementation of policies to ensure transparency and accuracy in financial reporting and disclosures, as well as efficiency of controlling processes.
• Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures and guidelines.

• Bachelor's degree required, preferably in accounting or other business discipline. Master's degree a plus.
• 6+ years General Accounting experience in a multi-state, multiple legal entity environment preferred.
• Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with internal customers and external partners (composure, conflict management, customer focus, negotiating)
• Basic knowledge of financial statements using Tagetik tools
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA - FI-CO Module (Accounting)
• Experience with IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards)
• Strong communication skills with fluency in English and Intermediate Portuguese is desirable.
