Factory Test Room Engineer

The opportunity

Hitachi Energy is looking for a Factory Test Room Engineer to join our Transformers team in Sharkia, Cairo. In this role, you will ensure the quality and reliability of our transformer products by conducting and analysing Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) while upholding strict safety protocols. How you'll make an impact

• Ensure all testing operations comply with international regulations and company policies, maintaining rigorous adherence to established standards.
• Champion a safety-first culture by implementing health and safety procedures in testing activities and collaborating with HSE teams for regular assessments.
• Work closely with customers and project teams to define and understand testing requirements, effectively planning and sequencing testing activities.
• Oversee comprehensive test procedures to ensure products meet specifications, coordinating all activities from preparation to completion for seamless operations.
• Manage the correct use and maintenance of test equipment, guaranteeing its availability for calibration and preventing misuse or damage.
• Oversee data management by ensuring accurate collection, recording, and reporting of test data, supporting both internal and external documentation needs.
• Contribute to failure analysis efforts to identify root causes of product issues and collaborate with teams to implement corrective actions for improved reliability.
• Drive continuous improvement by analyzing testing processes and metrics, collaborating with the team to implement innovations that enhance efficiency and quality.
• You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your Background

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a testing or quality control role within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of testing protocols, quality standards, and regulatory compliance (e.g., IEC, IEEE, ISO 9001, ISO 45001).
• Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools to evaluate test results and performance metrics.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to conduct thorough failure analyses and implement corrective actions.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide training and guidance.
