The opportunity

The transition to sustainable energy is accelerating, and HVDC technology plays a vital role in connecting large-scale offshore wind generation to power grids worldwide. To support the growing demand for offshore HVDC solutions, we have established a dedicated engineering organization focused on Automation and Control systems, including Protection & Control, SCADA, HMI, IT/OT Infrastructure, Cyber Security, Telecommunications, and Electrical Design.

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our team and contribute to the delivery of some of the world's most advanced HVDC projects. In this role, you will collaborate with internal teams and external partners to develop and integrate electrical solutions across the project lifecycle, from tendering and design through installation and commissioning support.

How you'll make an impact

  • Develop and maintain electrical design documentation, including cable block diagrams, cable schedules, circuit diagrams, and related engineering documentation.
  • Support the integration of supplier-delivered systems into the overall HVDC solution.
  • Review, specify, and approve electrical design deliverables from suppliers and engineering partners.
  • Coordinate technical interfaces between suppliers and cross-functional project teams.
  • Contribute technical expertise during tendering, design, and project execution phases.
  • Support installation, testing, and commissioning activities, both remotely and at project sites when required.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues to ensure safe, high-quality, and efficient project delivery.

Your Background

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical education.
  • At least 5 years of experience in electrical design within power systems, substations, HVDC, industrial automation, or related fields.
  • Documented experience using E3. Series CAD for electrical design and documentation.
  • Knowledge of additional electrical design tools such as Engineering Base, AutoCAD Electrical, or similar software.
  • Experience with secondary systems design in substations, power transmission, or comparable industries.
  • A solid understanding of electrical equipment, low-voltage control systems, and automation applications.
  • Great communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in diverse, international project environments and communicate fluently in English.
