The opportunity:

The Civil Lead Manager has a responsibility for a given team's operation, resource allocation, development of competence and people development. This role involves managing all aspects of civil works from planning and design to execution and handover, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

How you'll make an impact:

  • Lead, manage, and supervise all civil engineering activities across various projects, ensuring adherence to project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop, review, and approve civil engineering designs, drawings, and specifications, ensuring technical accuracy and constructability. Prepare and manage project budgets, schedules, and resource allocation for civil works, monitoring progress and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Oversee site inspections, quality control, and safety procedures for civil construction, ensuring compliance with company policies and best practices.
  • Manage and coordinate with contractors, sub-contractors, and suppliers for civil works, ensuring effective communication and performance.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for civil engineering projects.
  • Prepare and present regular project reports to senior management, highlighting project status, challenges, and proposed solutions.
  • Mentor and develop a team of civil engineers and technical staff.
  • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines and project stakeholders to ensure seamless project integration.
  • Stay updated with the latest civil engineering technologies, standards, and best practices.
  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in civil engineering project management, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering complex civil engineering projects, preferably in the power or infrastructure sector.
  • Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, construction methods, materials, and relevant national and international codes and standards.
  • Proficiency in project management software and relevant civil engineering design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively under pressure.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
