The opportunity
As a Category Specialist - Contracted Services within HVDC, the mission is to drive the implementation of the Supply Chain Management strategy for design- and construction-related services across both tenders and projects.

The role focuses on securing competitive cost levels, strong quality performance, and solid HSE standards to support the successful delivery of HVDC projects.

It also includes responsibility for ensuring full process compliance in accordance with company requirements and established SCM and Supply Base Management procedures, contributing to a reliable and well-governed supply chain.

How you'll make an impact

  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies in alignment with business requirements and company policies, ensuring subcontractor selection based on quality, HSE, delivery, cost, and sustainability.
  • Lead negotiations with subcontractors to secure favorable terms that meet project and business needs.
  • Manage subcontractor agreements from RFQ through contract signature and handover to operations, ensuring compliance with strategy and policies.
  • Monitor and evaluate subcontractor performance with a focus on HSE, quality, delivery, and cost, driving continuous improvement.
  • Enhance processes and tools by collaborating internally to improve efficiency and clarify interfaces with stakeholders.
  • Ensure robust contract and risk management, including drafting templates, applying flow-down provisions, and identifying mitigation actions for deviations.
  • Drive procurement and budget alignment, securing required services within schedule and supporting accurate project budgeting for construction and design.
  • Foster strong communication and supplier relationships, coordinating across internal teams and external partners to maximize value and ensure smooth execution.

Your background

  • Proven experience in developing and implementing sourcing strategies, ensuring subcontractor selection based on quality, HSE, delivery, cost, and sustainability.
  • Strong negotiation skills with a track record of securing favorable subcontract agreements and managing the process from RFQ to contract execution.
  • Ability to evaluate subcontractor performance and drive continuous improvement in quality, safety, delivery, and cost efficiency.
  • Solid background in contract and risk management, including drafting templates, applying flow-down provisions, and mitigating deviations.
  • Expertise in leading procurement processes and supporting accurate project budgeting for construction and design services within tight timelines.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, fostering collaboration internally and externally while building strong supplier relationships.
  • Experience meeting logistics budgets and performance targets, combined with a background supporting or developing teams in line with organizational and HR standards, regardless of managerial title.
