Hitachi Energy Transformer Business Unit in Greater China operates across 55 cities, employs over 1,900 staff, and manages 5 transformer manufacturing plants. More than 90% of its sales come from locally manufactured products. We offer a comprehensive portfolio of Transformers Products, Solutions and Services. Transformers are essential in all electricity-related fields and applications, including power generation, transmission and distribution, oil, chemical and gas, industrial manufacturing, semiconductor and data centers, as well as building and transportation sectors.

How you'll make an impact
- You will propose and develop new technologies, products, and processes for both core and shell type transformers.
- You will lead and manage R&D projects self-driven on time, on budget, and on quality following Hitachi Energy internal standards and processes.
- You will maintain existing and develop new technical standards and design tools for transformers.
- You will transfer your knowledge and findings by elaborating reports, specifications and/or participating in educational programs.
- You will assess production processes and proactively identify gaps and areas of improvement.
- You will support factories troubleshooting in your domain of expertise.
- You will develop, manage and expand relationships with stakeholders, internal functions, Corporate Research Centers and external relevant parties (e.g. customers, universities). Providing proposals for possible partnerships.
- You will be responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background
- You hold a degree in MS or PhD in Mechanical Engineering.
- More than 3 years of experience, either in R&D projects, engineering or University research.
- Knowledge in CAD modelling software (CATIA, CREO, Solidworks, Solidedge)
- Experience with advanced numerical simulations (e.g. mechanical simulations), proficiency in use of commercial simulations tools (e.g. Ansys, Comsol, Catia) and implementation of own solutions shall be well valued.
- Excellent abilities in teamwork in international teams with excellent interpersonal skills, a structured, problem-solving, self-driven, solutions-oriented approach, spirit of innovation, out of the box thinking.
- High level of knowledge in the required areas for the transformer technology
- Knowledge in ACT and APDL programming in Ansys.
- Experimental stress analysis & structural testing knowledge and experience with project management activities.
- Fluent spoken and written English and Spanish.
