The opportunity:

The BIM Modeler is an integral part of the design team who leads and coordinates the process of generating digital models and integrated data often referred as 'Information' about a project, from the design stage to the construction stage. The BIM Modeler is often regarded as a key person in a project team as he is responsible for the BIM workflow and ensures that any potential issues during modelling, clash detection and data conversion are dealt with efficiently. In general, the BIM Modeler is the go-to person for linking information across disciplines. Coordinate with Engineering Manager, Engineering Leads, Tendering team, Project managers, SCM, Secondary and civil / steel design functions, consultants, end customers etc. and provide required support in each Project / Tender.

How you'll make an impact:

  • Strong knowledge on BIM execution plans and project specific BIM documentation. Coordinating with various consultants and internal teams for developing in-house BIM models in LOD/LOI 300. Extracting clash detection reports and coordinating for resolution.
  • Extracting BOQ and coordinating with business tor confirmation. Loading project timelines and resources on BIM models and extracting 3D progress reports for management.
  • Assisting BIM service provider for as-built BIM model at the end of the project. Proficient in using BIM authoring tools to provide technical support and mentoring required to the project team.
  • Understand and ensure any changes in procedure and standards are effectively communicated to project teams, offer cross-team support.
  • Coordinate and manage BIM project data sets/workflow and project set up. Lead and drive project related BIM use cases like: Clash & clearance checks, BIM - 4D Simulation, Issue management, Visualizations, Asset management, etc.
  • Primary Engineering Deliverables. Experience in handling complete Engineering deliverables for AIS & GIS projects, Exposure to International experience & Standards IEC, IEEE & AS Substation layouts and section drawings, Grounding system drawings., lightning system design, drawings, cable routings.
  • Understanding of auxiliary design aspects of substations, such as LVAC / LVDC supplies, Cable sizing, Battery & Battery Charger Sizing, etc Technical data sheets verification of primary equipment. Knowledge of primary equipment, such as circuit breakers, disconnectors, earthing switches, instrument transformers, power transformers, etc.
  • Vendor Offer Evaluations. FAT / SAT of primary equipment, system as and when needed. Technical risk and opportunity assessment and validation Innovative ideas to reduce Engineering effort Plan, implement, review and continuously improvise quality system & follow OPEX initiatives.
  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or diploma in electrical, with 2-8 years' experience.
  • Proficiency in required CAD design tools (BIM Tools, ACC, Navisworks, MicroStation/AutoCAD, REVIT, 3D competence).
  • Knowledge of relevant International standards ex. IEEE, IEC, etc. Knowledge in substation tendering and project engineering activities (technical & commercial
  • Individual contributor using in-depth knowledge in a specific area to execute complex or specialized projects / challenges often thinking independently to challenge traditional solutions.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of related disciplines in the organization. Works independently, applying established standards.
  • Dynamic and Proactive, willing to grow in the organization. Team player, ready to play the role across different countries.
  • Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
