The opportunity

We are looking for an Application Manager to take ownership of a portfolio of global Finance applications, with BlackLine as the primary focus.

In this role, you will work closely with Finance stakeholders to understand business needs, identify opportunities for improvement and develop the use of BlackLine across Finance processes. As a key point of contact for the applications, you will coordinate with Finance teams, IT specialists and external partners.

Alongside BlackLine, you will manage a small number of Finance applications and subscription-based services and contribute to application projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

How you'll make an impact

  • Take end-to-end ownership of BlackLine and other applications within your portfolio.
  • Act as the primary IT partner for Accounting, Tax, and Treasury stakeholders.
  • Work with Finance stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into application and process improvements.
  • Keep up to date with BlackLine capabilities and releases and identify relevant opportunities for the business.
  • Coordinate application support across internal IT teams, external service providers and software vendors.
  • Monitor SLAs, KPIs, ticket trends, backlogs and recurring issues, and follow up on service performance.
  • Coordinate incidents, problems, service requests, changes and releases in line with established application management processes.
  • Coordinate application enhancements, upgrades and projects from requirements and planning through testing, implementation and transition to support.
  • Maintain clear reporting on status, milestones, risks, dependencies, decisions and actions, escalating concerns when needed.
  • Support application governance, IT risk, audit and internal control activities across the portfolio.
  • Maintain application knowledge and documentation and help users make effective use of available functionality and support channels.

Your background

  • Proven experience in Application Management, Application Management Services (AMS) or IT Service Management within a global or complex organization.
  • Hands-on experience with BlackLine, with good knowledge of its functionality and configuration options.
  • Good practical understanding of Finance processes, particularly Record-to-Report, financial close, general ledger, account reconciliation and intercompany accounting.
  • Practical understanding of ITIL processes, including Incident, Problem, Change, Release and Service Level Management.
  • Experience managing external service providers or software vendors and coordinating work across internal delivery teams.
  • Experience coordinating application enhancements, upgrades, releases or implementation projects.
  • Strong service and project reporting skills, including KPIs, RAID management, milestone tracking and status reporting.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across Finance, IT and external partners in an international environment.
