What's the role?

Senior Software Engineer (ANDROID SOLUTIONS) would be a part of the Global Solution Engineering team. Working in a team located in Navi Mumbai, you will help us design, deploy and improve a cutting-edge automotive infotainment system. You will join a team that is formed to work with partners in building the future system with which drivers interact with their cars. We are searching for Senior Software Engineer with strong development skills to join our team.

• Analyze, monitor, and enhance performance and quality of Android-based embedded automotive solutions featuring UI.
• Proficient in Kotlin and Java: strong grasp of Android SDK, system internals, and modern UI development using Jetpack Compose and Material Design.
• Apply robust testing practices: unit, instrumentation, automation; and refine performance (memory, battery, startup times).
• Adhere to security best practices; implement native integrations using Android NDK (C/C++) and support cross-platform solutions via frameworks like Flutter and React Native.
• Collaborate closely with stakeholders to clarify requirements and develop/maintain customized solutions, aligning technical efforts to business needs.
• Demonstrate strong SDLC knowledge: design, implement, and evolve software systems; deliver new solutions and enhancements to meet changing requirements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently during both testing and production phases to ensure system stability.
• Mentor and guide team members to drive collective growth and uphold engineering excellence.
• Hands-on with AOSP builds and customizations.
• Experience in automotive applications and protocols.
• Proficiency in C/C++ and/or TypeScript for multi-language projects.

We are seeking a talented Android Engineer to develop innovative front-end solutions for the rapidly evolving automotive industry. A strong track record of developing and delivering outstanding mobile applications is essential, and experience in mentoring peers is highly valued. Depending on your qualification and interest, you will be closely involved in architectural definition, product specification and/or user interface & graphical specifications.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
• 4+ years of experience with substantial experience in embedded solution development projects
• Proven experience in Android development (Kotlin preferred)
• Expertise in modern programming languages, technologies, and concepts, including object oriented design, design patterns, Kotlin or Flutter (SDK) / Dart
• Expertise with front end technologies - Javascript/TypeScript, React JS , Node JS
• Deep knowledge either on Linux and Android Open-Source Project (AOSP)
• Analytical approach and problem-solving skills and ability to lead detailed technical analysis
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
• Having the following skills would be an added advantage:
  • Knowledge of location-based services such as mapping, navigation, GPS
  • Experience in working with embedded and/or automotive hardware test environments.
  • Experience developing HTTP REST services.
  • Knowledge on location or automotive specific industry standards, e.g., Navigation Data Standard (NDS), Transport Protocol Experts Group (TPEG)
