Software Engineer Intern
What's the role?
This internship project involves building and scaling a Semantic Metadata Engine (SME): a system that enriches our data assets with structured, machine-readable meaning so that Agentic AI models can discover, reason over, and use organizational data autonomously and accurately.
Intern will come and help build:
Metadata Schema & Ontology
Semantic Search & Retrieval API
Agent Integration Layer
Acceptance Criteria
Gained hands-on experience building infrastructure for enterprise AI systems
Developed a working understanding of how Agentic AI models consume and reason over structured knowledge
Contributed a production-ready (or near-production) system used by real AI workflows in the organization
Built skills at the intersection of data engineering, AI/ML, and knowledge representation
About the team:
You will be part of a global engineering team focused on building scalable Machine Learning and AI solutions that power HERE’s next‑generation location platform. The team works closely with product, data, and platform partners to translate complex problems into impactful, production‑ready systems.
Who are you?
- Intern pursuing Master’s degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, AI, Data Science, or related field
This is a full-time paid internship (20 to 40 hours per week) with a fixed hourly rate of depending on your level of education as follows:
Undergraduate Students: $25/hr
Graduate Students: $30/hr
PhD Students: $35/hr
