ML Research Engineer Intern

What's the role?

As an ML Engineer Intern, you will work with outstanding team of Data Engineers, Data Scientists and Research Engineers to build ML data pipeline for Multi-Industry Solutions organization. You will assist in the design and implementation of ML algorithms, helping to structure, analyze, and leverage sensor data for various applications. As part of our dynamic team, you'll drive innovation and improve quality across products related to Transportation and Logistics, Last-mile delivery, Traffic Intersection Analytics, Routing and ETA in multi-modal transportation system.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Design and development and of machine learning models for the Trips data pipeline

• Support the sourcing and analysis of large data sets, cleaning, preprocessing and translation of machine learning models into code and their integration into systems. 

• Implement, test, and maintain ML pipelines using tools like TensorFlow or PyTorch
•  Monitor model performance and assist in retraining or tuning models as needed.
•  Implement tools to enhance both automated and semi-automated map data processing, involving backend/service-based software stack and front-end visualization components for big data analysis
•  Work with other engineering teams and internal customers to identify new opportunities, address critical needs and solve complex problems using your software development expertise.

Build Proof of Concept applications that implements state of the art ML algorithms.

Who are you?

You have a strong engineering background, or any quantitative field and you are self-motivated and enthusiastic about learning/applying new technologies.

• Master’s degree in computer science, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, Engineering or a related field.
• Good working knowledge of Machine Learning, data mining and analytic methods such as regression, classifiers, Clustering, Probabilistic Graphical Models, Deep Learning, Graph Neural Networks and Generative AI. 
• Programming experience with Python, C++, Javascript and Scala, etc. 
• Proficiency in Python development and ML frameworks such as PyTorch and Sagemaker
• Knowledge of developing with AWS EMR, EC2, S3, Lambda, etc. 
• Working understanding of Cloud & Big Data Ecosystem :Spark, Kafka, Apache Storm and Apache Airflow
• Experience working on GNSS probe sensor data or computer vision data is a plus
• Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Matplotlib, Seaborn, Plotly)
• Strong expertise in Relational Databases (Oracle, MySQL) and SQL performance optimization and NoSQL databases like MongoDB

This is a full-time paid internship (20 to 40 hours per week) with a fixed hourly rate of depending on your level of education as follows:

PhD Students: $35/hr
