Lead Software Engineer

What's the role?

As a Lead Software Engineer, you will design and develop backend services that process large‑scale real‑time traffic data. You’ll work across the full development lifecycle, drive performance improvements, support production systems, and collaborate with multiple engineering teams. You’ll also guide best practices and mentor team members.

 

• Ability to quickly learn new technologies and programming languages.
• Develop and maintain tools and processes that support development, automation testing and deployment of software components.
• Develop and enhance configuration management tools for software components.
• Create and execute approved test plans and analyzes and report results when necessary.
• Decompose requirements for testability and provide feedback to the requirement gathering process.
• Interact with customers/users to support software acceptance process and act as a liaison between development and user community.
• Responsible for implementing various algorithms to do automated feature extraction and dataset augmentation, optimizing runtimes of neural network algorithms and building higher level abstractions for various common AI/ML techniques.
• Low level performance optimization of deep learning systems

Who are you?

• Bachelor or master’s degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or equivalent
• 8+ years of software development experience, 
• Excellent applied skills in Java and/or Scala programming, in combination with backend architectures, messaging technologies and related frameworks
• Cloud Experience (AWS/Azure/IBM/Oracle)
• Strong and applied experience in REST based web service technologies, JSON and XML, SOA and micro services architectures
• Strong and applied DBMS & SQL skills, with a strong preference on PostgreSQL / PostGIS
• Able to translate business and architectural features into quality, consistent software design
• Solid knowledge of programming practices, strive to write great code that is reusable, flexible, and reliable.
• Strong quality mindset is considered a must: unit testing, performance testing, writing testable code
• Self-motivated, well-organized, details-oriented and a strong team player with an agile mindset
