THE POSITION
The Equipment Service Technician (EST - Hi Tech) is responsible for:
The majority of your time will be spent supporting the sales organization through your knowledge and expertise of high-technology requirements. This includes, but is not limited to:
o Work closely with the Installation Project Manager and his team to ensure follow-ups, deadlines, installations and training of all hi-tech products and equipment
o Involvement in installation projects as of the start
o Be present in the pre-sale environment
o Meet customers with the FSC's and ESS's to understand high-tech needs and make recommendations
o On-site visits are often required to properly assess the project scope;
o Prepare and present quotes/proposals related to all high-tech requirements
o Attend all follow-up meetings on projects to ensure the proper execution and customer satisfaction

o Reinforce the high-tech equipment protocol
• Provides a high level of technical support and maintenance on PC's and their peripherals
• Work with technical teams and key stakeholders to schedule the installation of hardware, supervising the uncrating and placement of equipment, maintaining network hardware and software
• Troubleshoot, analyze and resolve client's technical problems
• Train, aid and support dental office end users with software applications to help them run an efficient dental practice
• Install software, provide support and installation software upgrades
• Installs all aspects of a complete network including hardware, cabling, monitor brackets and various other specific dental hardware including Digital Radiography and 3D Imaging
• Evaluate the efficiency of the system installed or repaired
• Responds/updates/closes calls regarding customer issues from a central call Management Hi-Tech Centre in Toronto
In addition to the key responsibilities listed above, all positions are also responsible for:
• Meeting company standards pertaining to quantity and quality of work performed on an ongoing basis, performing all work related tasks in a manner that is in compliance with all Company policies and procedures including WorldWide Business Standards
• Adhering to Company policies, procedures, and directives regarding standards of workplace behavior in completing job duties and assignments
Discretion:
• This position has limited authority to make independent decisions and/or recommendations on matters of significant importance based on the exercise of discretion and independent judgment within the job duties
Supervision:
• This position reports to the Service, Hi-Tech or Branch Operations Manager
• Assignments are periodically checked for progress by the immediate supervisor and/or executive committee
Physical Activities:
• Frequent exposure to customers; handling of queries and calls
• Frequent travel - approximately 2 overnight stays per month
• Heavy unpacking, lifting, moving and packing of products (up to 100lbs) is required
• This position utilizes typical office equipment
• This position will be working at customers' sites or in shop utilizing typical shop tools
• Exposure to electrical pressurized air and hot water during repair of equipment
THE QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
• Bachelor's degree in computer information systems, data processing or computer science
• Willing to take company training courses as required
Experience:
• 3 years' of experience in a Service/Equipment environment in the Dental Industry
• Those who have a background in business management or a closely related field are preferred
• Strong interpersonal skills and business acumen
Specialized Knowledge and Skills:
• Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Telephone / Voice Mail
• Strong understanding of Windows and Windows applications
• Excellent communication skills; ability to effectively support clients over the telephone
• Excellent analytical ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
• Troubleshooting and installing various peripherals including printers, scanners, multimedia, video and USB connected devices
Other:
• Must be flexible to work the necessary hours to complete a task successfully and efficiently
• Must be able to handle stressful situations in a calm, professional manner
• Frequent exposure to customers; handling of queries and calls
• Proven time management and organizational skills, with experience in a fast paced environment
