Marketing Associate, Hachette Nashville

SUMMARY:

Hachette Nashville, a publishing division of Hachette Book Group, is seeking a Marketing Associate to join their team. Based in either New York or Nashville and reporting to the Executive Director of Marketing, this individual will be responsible for creating and implementing marketing campaigns for a variety of non-fiction titles across our publishing imprints, which include Worthy, FaithWords, Center Street, and Worthy Kids. The successful candidate will need to adapt to an evolving environment, have strong communication skills, help drive continuous improvement, and thrive in a results-oriented workplace.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Works closely with the Executive Director of Marketing, utilizing research and analytics to create, communicate, and implement marketing campaigns
  • Project-manages marketing campaigns for 6-8 titles per season
  • Creates author meeting agendas; takes and shares minutes
  • Works with key stakeholders (author, agent, editorial, and publicity) during the planning phase to ensure cohesive, strategic, and creative marketing efforts
  • Helps coordinate imprint sales presentations for seasonal meetings
  • Communicates to both authors and internal clients thoughtful marketing, advertising, and sales updates and analyses leading up to, during, and after publication
  • Creates and deploys direct-to-consumer email campaigns and newsletters
  • Responsible for updating the imprint homepages on a weekly basis
  • Assists in designing creative assets including social graphics, Amazon A+, flyers, etc.
  • Manages and updates departmental marketing calendar


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:
  • Minimum of two years' experience in book publishing
  • Proficiency with social media platforms
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Proficiency with Canva is a plus
  • Proficiency with WordPress is a plus
  • Proficiency with MailChimp or other email client is a plus
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Experience presenting in front of groups including internal meetings and with outside clients
  • Proven ability to deliver timely, accurate work and demonstrate good follow-up and follow-through.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.


The compensation range for this position is $55,000-$65,000. Salary can vary based on a number of factors including skills, experience, and location - talk with your recruiter to learn more. There may be times that you will be required (or requested) to work overtime due to the nature of your role or exceptional workload issues or special projects.
