Major Duties & Responsibilities:

Be a steward of the Griffith Purpose and Values in all external and internal actions and activities aligned with the business.

  • Leads the finance and accounting team for Griffith India. Responsible for daily accounting function, guidance to team on various accounting process in AP, AR, banking, revenue, exports, month end closure, year end closures.


  • Responsible for operating unit financial closing process, preparation and maintenance of statutory accounts, and accounting back office functions. Closely works with Finance Director for various management reports, analysis, management meetings and other periodic deliverables on MIS.


  • Supports compliance and applicable financial reporting standards. Accountable for the annual audits of India operating unit including coordination with local independent auditors and Griffith Foods Corporate staff. Responsible for Group audit and deliverables based on Group closure timelines.


  • Prepares India and IME operating units business and financial results including sales, operating expenses, profits, Economic Value Added (EVA), cash flows and net working capital.


  • Coordinates for the India business units system of internal controls and for compliance with Griffith Foods worldwide accounting and finance policies and procedures. Supervise the internal audit activity by external consultant for India operations, reviews reports and works on closure of observations.


  • Oversees India cash management, tax filings. Maintains contact and coordinates with local banks, tax authorities, Treasury and Legal.

Payroll preparation and administration

  • Take care of payroll functions to ensure that employees are paid in a timely and accurate manner and submit statutory and benefits remittances on timely manners and administration.

Talent Management Responsibilities

  • Carries out Talent Management and supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Griffith Foods policies for the direct reports.


  • Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; coaching and development planning, motivating, rewarding, and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems; interviewing, hiring, training and retaining employees.

Working Relationships:

Internal

  • Reporting to Finance Business Partner- India


  • Works closely with Corporate Finance and locally with Business Development team and Support Function

External

  • Outside Auditors, Banks and Lawyers.

Qualification and Experience:

  • Chartered Accountant with University degree in Accounting, Commerce, or Business Management/ Administration. An MBA degree will be an added advantage.

  • 8 years of experience; at least five years' experience in generalist financial positions with high growth businesses or divisions (ideally in global companies) involving supervisory responsibility; ideally a balance of large and medium/small size companies; manufacturing industry experience essential; a balance of business and public accounting would be acceptable; food industry desirable but not required.


  • Functional Expertise - High competency and skill base in finance and accounting theory, concepts and practice; Demonstrated experience in financial accounting, reporting and analysis, planning, budgeting and forecasting; Understanding and application of Economic Value Added (EVA) and discounted cash flow analysis; Knowledge of product costing methods and customer pricing strategies and tactics.

  • Computer Skills - Solid skills with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, Power Point); Experience with ERP systems is required especially post implementation optimization & leverage; knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 would be a plus.


  • Experience with CRM applications and Business Intelligence tools are desirable.
