Position Details:
Grainger is establishing a Supply Chain Product Management function to drive the next phase of innovation and technology development across its supply chain. This Director will be a foundational hire, responsible for standing up and leading this capability while shaping how internally built products are defined, developed, and scaled across the organization.
This role will initially focus on building foundational data products that address core data quality and structure challenges, enabling future investments in advanced supply chain capabilities. Over time, the scope will expand to include a broader portfolio of internally developed products across areas such as inventory, warehouse operations, and transportation.
Core Purpose:
Stand up and lead Supply Chain Product Management at Grainger, owning the development and scaling of internally built products while shaping the strategy and direction of supply chain technology through product insight and execution.
This role partners broadly across business and technology teams to help shape build vs. buy decisions and is accountable for leading the development, productization, and scaling of internally built supply chain technology solutions.

You Will:
• Stand up and lead the Supply Chain Product Management function, defining product management practices, operating model, and ways of working
• Own the end-to-end lifecycle of internally built supply chain products, from concept through delivery, adoption, and value realization
• Lead initial product investments focused on supply chain data products, improving data quality, structure, and accessibility to enable downstream capabilities
• Translate business needs and strategic priorities into clear product strategies, roadmaps, and measurable outcomes
• Partner across Supply Chain Operations, Engineering, Architecture, Data & Analytics, Design, Finance, and Portfolio teams to align on priorities and deliver integrated solutions
• Contribute to build vs. buy discussions by bringing a strong product perspective informed by business needs, system constraints, and long-term scalability
• Ensure delivery of high-quality, scalable solutions through close collaboration with engineering and technical teams
• Establish and track product KPIs that clearly tie to business impact and value realization
• Hire, develop, and scale a high-performing product management team over time
• Drive clarity and alignment through strong communication, structured thinking, and data-driven storytelling
You Have:
• 10+ years of experience in product management, with a track record of building and scaling products in complex environments
• Experience operating in enterprise technology ecosystems, ideally including ERP-integrated environments (e.g., SAP)
• Demonstrated ability to define product strategy and translate it into execution and measurable outcomes
• Experience working cross-functionally with engineering, architecture, data, and business stakeholders
• Strong systems thinking, with the ability to operate across interconnected domains and balance short- and long-term considerations
• Experience building or scaling product teams and establishing product management practices
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to use data to drive prioritization and tradeoffs
• Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to simplify complex topics and align senior stakeholders
• Experience in supply chain, logistics, or industrial distribution environments is strongly preferred
