PRIMARY FUNCTION
As part of Grainger's vision to become a global leader in product information, gathering and producing best-in-class product information is core to creating the primary connection between our suppliers' products and our customer's successful buying experiences. International New
Product Introduction will perform a critical role in achieving this vision with Grainger's Canada, Mexico, and Zoro business units.
Best-in-class product information and content starts when the product is introduced into Grainger's assortment during New Product Introduction (NPI). In this role, the Content Process Specialist is responsible for partnering with suppliers during NPI to gather the necessary
product information and content, cleaning and normalizing the product information to meet Grainger's data quality standards and executing the appropriate handoffs before the product is merchandised to customers.
Success in this role is evidenced by efficient cycle times, completeness of the data and assets gathered, and product information that meets Grainger's quality standards for accuracy and normalization.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Partner with suppliers to gather product information including global attributes, merchandising data, and rich content to support New Product Introduction and other initiatives as needed to support Grainger's Canada, Mexico, and Zoro businesses.
- Strong communication with suppliers both verbally and in writing to ensure the most seamless and efficient supplier experience when partnering with Grainger on product information and content.
- Efficiently execute processes to collect and process product information and content from suppliers resolving any supplier confusion to ensure the work is completed in a timely manner.
- Document interactions with suppliers as specified by standard work instructions.
- Ensure clean handoffs of product information and content for consumption by business partners, following up with suppliers as needed to resolve any issues.
- Clean and normalize the data to comply with Grainger's data quality standards.
- Manage and prioritize work across multiple processes, activities, and projects.
- Other activities and projects as needed to support Canada, Mexico, or Zoro Product Information initiatives.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- BA/BS or equivalent preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in related field preferred.
- Proven experience communicating with suppliers, problem solving and troubleshooting supplier challenges, and resolving supplier confusion.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a high level of professionalism.
- Knowledge of Product Information best practices across data quality and normalization.
- Operates with a clear sense of urgency, focused on executing without sacrificing quality while providing the best possible supplier experience.
- Results and solutions oriented - intent on driving the best commercial outcomes for Grainger and our suppliers.
- Well organized, with the capability to manage multiple bodies of work at the same time.
- Proven experience in managing large volumes of product information and content.
- Demonstrated ability to partner cross-functionally.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Familiarity with new product introduction preferred
- Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish - read, write, speak).
