RESPONSIBILITIES
About The Role:
We are seeking a Principal Software Engineer with deep expertise in Generative AI to lead the design and architecture of next-generation AI applications. This is a hands-on, architecture-driven role for a seasoned technologist who thrives in regulated environments and is passionate about building secure, scalable, and intelligent systems.
You will be responsible for working with cross functional teams to implement AI solutions using agentic patterns, multi-agent frameworks, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures or SaaS solutions. You'll also play a key role in evangelizing best AI architectural best practices and driving innovation across the organization.
- Architect and build production-grade Generative AI applications using modern agentic and multi-agent design patterns.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to set architecture standards & guidelines for AI implementations in conjunction with existing enterprise architecture standards
- Design and implement reusable working AI patterns for enterprise use
- Ensure AI systems meet privacy, governance, and compliance standards, especially in highly regulated industries such as finance.
- Evaluate and select appropriate GenAI platforms (e.g., Azure AI Foundry, Databricks Mosaic AI) based on project needs.
- Lead architectural reviews and influence enterprise-wide technology decisions.
- Mentor engineers and promote a culture of innovation, quality, and accountability.
- Stay current with emerging AI technologies, evaluation frameworks, and industry trends.
QUALIFICATIONS
What Makes You A Dream Candidate?
Knowledge and Skills
- 12+ years of experience in software engineering, including roles as a developer, architect, and test engineer
- Proven experience building and deploying Generative AI applications in production
- Proven knowledge of Gen AI Application Development Framework and Standard patterns
- Deep understanding of agentic architectures, RAG, and multi-agent orchestration
- Proficiency in Python (essential for GenAI) and strong experience in C# or Java
- Demonstrated ability to influence in cross functional AI implementation stacks
- Lead hands-on development and deployment of GenAI solutions, focusing on building complex systems using LLMs and orchestration frameworks such as Langchain and Llama Index
- Design and implement microservices, REST APIs, and CI/CD pipelines
- Architect and build scalable platforms, ideally with prior experience as a key contributor to organizational tools or systems
- Experience with AWS Bedrock or Azure AI foundry, SF Agentforce
- Engage in open source projects, technical blogging, or patent contributions to showcase thought leadership in the GenAI engineering space
- Experience working in regulated environments (e.g., finance, healthcare), with a strong grasp of data privacy, governance, and compliance
- Familiarity with evaluation frameworks for LLMs and AI systems
- Strong communication skills with the ability to evangelize and justify architectural decisions
- Demonstrate strong proficiency in managing and presenting information, including advanced Excel formulas, PowerPoint animations, graphic design, and SharePoint page curation
- Create engaging videos, organize clear calendar events, and develop visually appealing newsletters, reports, and Agile boards to support team communication and project tracking
- Exhibit a proactive, "can-do" attitude toward a broad range of information management and communication tasks, going beyond traditional engineering responsibilities
- Naturally curious and actively explores new ideas, technologies, and industry trends with a learning mindset

Experience and Education:
- Greater than 10 years in related function required
- 3-5 years leading through mentorship in related field required
- 3-5 years leading projects and initiatives through influence required
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Associate Degree or High School Equivalent plus 2 additional years of related experience required
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Open AI, LangChain, AI vendor implementations
- Familiarity with cloud-native AI development and MLOps practices
- Contributions to open-source AI projects or published research in the field
