RESPONSIBILITIES
About this role
The Global Infrastructure Data Transmission Administrator III will assist as a high-level subject matter expert in the day-to-day tasks critical to the team's success. This individual will focus on the support and implementation of managed file transfer services from the perspective of a subject matter expert. This person will be responsible for attending project meetings when necessary and assist in gathering and documenting infrastructure and security requirements. This individual will maintain familiarity with all compliance, regulatory and security requirements adhering to all corporate policies and standards. This person needs to be highly and expertly experienced in technology with good planning and coordination skills. An energetic, solution minded personality with drive, attention to details and excellent communication skills will be needed for success in this position. Additionally, the administrators will focus on sustainability and improvement of processes, including any or all of the following duties: environment optimization along with task automation to improve process efficiency, basic project management tasks, expert mentorship of lower-level engineers, documenting managed environments, assisting with evening and weekend deployments, maintenance of ticketing queues, audit and compliance remediation, balancing multiple projects across more than one team, and may be involved in senior escalation for after hours production issues.
- Collaborate with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements and deliver the required services where needed
- Work independently, must have high attention to detail, be well organized and be a self-starter
- Use a broad and deep understanding of technical concepts in multiple specialized fields to develop solutions to problems and critical design issues
- Resolve most conflicts between timeline, budget, and scope independently but intuitively
- Escalate complex or consequential issues to management
- Identify and direct changes through appropriate review and approval mechanisms
- Be able to perform with a high level of expertise with limited to moderate direct supervision
- Expertise in maintaining Service Now build/maintain and change queue including closing MFT SNOW tickets in a timely manner with appropriate documentation, as well as expertise in the ticketing system for incident resolution and change management queue requirements
- Intermediate working knowledge Windows and Unix operating systems
- Understand the correct moments to escalate complex or consequential issues to management
- Perform or plan or assist with periodic platform upgrades as needed
- Install system patches and application updates as directed
- Respond to compliance assessments and initiate corrective action when appropriate for audit and compliance remediation
- Assist other engineers, technical leads, and management with performance analysis, process improvement, task automation, and systems capacity planning
- Creation and updating of architectural documentation as needed
- Capacity to work with a high degree of professionalism, communicating effectively and appropriately, engaging multiple teams internal and external to Information Technology, deferring to management on communicating with external teams as needed
- Attend departmental, project and general meetings and effectively represent current status as appropriate
- Participate in company provided training and perform independent training and research as appropriate
- Participate in an on-call support rotation for providing after-hours support
- Lead multiple projects simultaneously, engaging with project management office as needed
- Capacity to mentor and lead lower level engineers as needed

- Local and wide area networking concepts, principles and protocols
- Advanced knowledge of managed file transfer software and services such as GoAnywhere, Axway Tumbleweed, IBM Connect:Direct
- Advanced knowledge in Infrastructure design and management
- Advanced understanding of IT Service Management (ITSM) best practices and processes
- Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP to the level required for maintenance of the areas the team supports
- High-level understanding of technology infrastructure, security concepts and platforms
- Demonstrated success in project management
- Strong understanding of application layer protocols including HTTP, SSH, SSL, SFTP, FTP/S, FTP, CIFS/SMB, WebDAV and DNS
- Advanced knowledge of encryption standards such as PGP, OpenGPG, SSL, ZIP
- Intermediate knowledge of cross platform integration
- Intermediate scripting knowledge, such as Windows PowerShell or Unix/Linux scripting languages
- Knowledge and stay abreast on the latest security and privacy legislation, regulations, advisories, alerts and vulnerabilities
- Knowledge and understanding of industry trends and new technologies with the ability to apply this to day-to-day work activities
- Knowledge of IT security processes and controls as well as IT infrastructure and networking technical knowledge
- Ability to think strategically and make collaborative decisions, including those which require risk/benefit analysis
- Ability to apply structured analysis methods to various types of data to establish trends, determine variability and business impact
- Communicates quickly, clearly, concisely, appropriately and intelligently
- Foster open communication, speaks with impact, listens to others, and writes effectively
- Ability to effectively negotiate with vendors on upgrades and acquisitions

- Expert level IT security and controls knowledge as well as IT infrastructure and networking technical knowledge

- Experience with technical writing to the degree which will be required for creating and maintaining departmental documentation
- Experience in documentation tools such as Visio and Microsoft Office products

Experience and Education
- 4-6 years of experience with data transmissions and managed file transfer required
- Experience in dealing with multiple business units and a diverse employee population preferred
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent experience preferred
