RESPONSIBILITIES
About The Role:
The Global ADC Engineer IV, under the general direction from the Global ADC Manager, will assist in the day-to-day support activities of all F5 BIG-IP and Citrix NetScaler environments, including on-prem and cloud deployments. This individual will assist in the management of all devices, developing solutions, and the mastery of multiple modules on the ADC platforms supported by the team. This team member is responsible primarily for the assessment and optimization of Application Delivery platforms through review and assessment of customer needs. They are also responsible for developing requests for proposal, evaluating vendor products, and making recommendations on selection. This team member may function in a lead position providing guidance, direction and training to less experienced engineers. Timely completing company training, this individual will become thoroughly familiar with all compliance, regulatory and security requirements adhering to all corporate policies and standards.
- Serve as Subject Matter of Expert (SME) of F5 LTM/GTM, and advanced knowledge of Citrix Netscaler and GSLB
- Maintain and administer load balancing standards, documentation, processes and procedures
- Evaluate, review and if appropriate, implement recommendations for improvements to existing ADC procedures and documentation for efficient and cost effective delivery of highly available application delivery services
- Interface with IT Architect, LAN/WAN, and Cybersecurity teams to activate load balancer related services both locally and abroad; and assist with problem resolution as required

- Author policy, procedure and standards documents based on industry best practices and personal research and experience
- Lead development, testing, documentation, and QA functions to ensure that projects are securely delivered and fulfill expectations
- Provide recommendations to management team to increase effectiveness of organization and technology solutions
- Uses a broad and deep understanding of technical concepts in multiple specialized fields to develop solutions to problems and critical design issues

QUALIFICATIONS
What Makes You A Dream Candidate?
- Local and wide area networking concepts, principles and protocols
- Advanced understanding of IT Service Management (ITSM) best practices and processes
- Advanced understanding of the OSI level, routing and switching protocols as they relate to load balancing (STP, BGP, OSPF, TCP, SSL, SNAT, TLS, SSH, NTP)
- Strong understanding of application layer protocols including HTTP, HTTPS, SSH, SSL, TLS, and DNS
- Experience with TCPdump, Wireshark, HTTPwatch or other traffic analyzing tools
- Knowledge and stay abreast on the latest security and privacy legislation, regulations, advisories, alerts and vulnerabilities
- Knowledge of IT security processes and controls as well as IT infrastructure and networking technical knowledge
- Functional understanding of additional F5 modules such as APM, ASM, or AFM with a willingness to accelerate learning in these areas
- Advanced knowledge and experience to complete configurations on the F5, including OS upgrades, vlan and/or port trunking, configuration restores, device migrations and general troubleshooting on the devices
- Demonstrate knowledge and experience of design, configure, maintain the F5 BIG-IP Viprion or iSeries model and secure the multi-tenant with vCMP
- Demonstrate knowledge and experience of F5 iRules, TMSH, iApp, Netscaler Application Templates, etc.
- Understand of F5's iControl, REST API, and application provisioning platforms
- Experience on F5 versions v11.x or higher preferred
- Experience with Application Layer Security
- Experience with DevOps in application service automation, REST API and general API consumption is plus
- Experience with continuous integration and delivery practices and automation tools such as ansible, puppet, Chef, AppViewX, BigIQ is a plus
- Experience with programming or scripting languages such as Unix Shell, TMSH, Powershell, Python is a plus
- Experience with other ADC platforms from cloud service providers such as Azure, AWS, Google is a plusAbility to think strategically and make collaborative decisions
- Ability to apply structured analysis methods to various types of data to establish trends, determine variability and business impact

Education and Experience:
- F5 Certification PrefNormal office environment subject to stressful situations
- Limited travel may be required to support business needs
- Flexible schedule with possibility of working long hours may be required
Work Experience - 7-10 years of experience working with Big-IP F5's Pref
- High School Diploma or equivalent Required
- Associate Degree
- Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent work experience Preferred
- Master's Degree
