RESPONSIBILITIES
The Claims Vendor Strategy Manager is responsible for directing the work of vendor analysts related to the governance, oversight and support of vendor activities to achieve the goals and objects of General Motors Insurance. This position works with internal stakeholders and external vendors to oversee regulatory and contractual obligations are met. The Vendor Strategy Manager ensures all applicable department and global policy requirements are met. This position will also be responsible for maintaining strategic relationships with vendor partners to assist with achieving desired department results. This position will be responsible for building out the capabilities and staffing needed to support the growth plans and ongoing maintenance of General Motors Insurance.
In this role you will:
- Responsible for interviewing, hiring, evaluating and directing the work of direct reports
- Develop goals and objectives for direct reports that align with General Motors Insurance key results
- Provide information regarding contract expirations and renewal schedules
- Maintain relationships with vendors to gather information needed for due diligence, risk assessments, and any other ongoing monitoring required
- Champion strong interpersonal relationships with business partners and work with internal stakeholders to support vendor oversight requirements, strategic needs, analysis, and other processes
- Work with vendor and internal stakeholders to ensure ongoing vendor monitoring activities are documented in accordance with company policy and procedures
- Perform reviews and analysis of executed vendor agreements to ensure service level compliance and other contractual commitments are satisfied
- Ensures vendor relationships and performance contribute to General Motors Insurance strategy
- Ensure the team resolves vendor disputes or issues quickly and efficiently
- Maintain required data on vendors to provide full picture of our vendor landscape, including information on vendor contracts, risks, due diligence, business owners, and products/services purchased
- Ensure accurate data on vendors resides in system of record
- Manage special projects and other duties as assigned
- Proactively identify and recommend vendor solutions and technologies to leadership that further enhance the customer or employee experience in line with General Motors strategies and goals
QUALIFICATIONS

- Ability to perform comprehensive analysis on costs and benefits of project proposals and outsourcing activities

- Ability to lead and delegate appropriately
- Ability to make independent decisions
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to communicate effectively at multiple levels of an organization (verbal and written) on a regular basis
- Proven analytical skills and strategic thinking
- Excellent organizational skills a must
- Must be skilled and highly proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Work Experience & Education
- 4+ years of Insurance or financial services industry experience required
- 2+ years of experience in a Vendor Management department or functionally related area handling vendor partnerships required
- 4+ years of experience in claims, preferably auto claims preferred
- 3+ years of claims leadership experience preferred
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor's Degree or 4+ years of experience in the field or in a related area preferred

The base range for this role is: $96.000-$177.500
At GM Financial, we strive for transparency in all aspects of our business, including pay equity. This is the GM Financial pay range for this role and job level. The exact salary and compensation will vary based on factors like knowledge, skills, experience, and education.
This role is eligible to participate in a performance-based incentive plan. Full time employees are eligible to participate in health benefits on day one of employment.
