Short - Term Grant Writer

GlobalGiving seeks a part-time and short-term Grant Writer beginning January 2017. Estimated contract length is six months. Schedule to be extremely flexible.

The Grant Writer will report to the Chief Product Officer, and be primarily responsible for developing and writing a $5M+ grant proposal for a philanthropic foundation on behavioral economics. The Grant Writer will work closely with an academic research team to adapt the results of a series of A/B tests into an effective funding proposal. The Grant Writer will also be responsible for compiling a corresponding literature review.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: The successful candidate will have experience crafting funding proposals in a clear and compelling manner. Excellent writing, analytical, and research skills are essential. Candidates must be self-motivated, detail oriented, and highly-organized. Candidates with experience producing extensive literature reviews preferred. Some knowledge and background of behavioral science and/or behavioral economics preferred. Experience with federal agency proposals considered relevant.

Location: Candidates in the Washington D.C area are preferred as Grant Writer will have to participate in regular meetings at GlobalGiving’s office in downtown D.C. Grant Writer will have the opportunity to work from GlobalGiving’s offices for duration of contract.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least three years of grant writing experience. Current graduate students also encouraged to apply.

Salary: Salary commensurate with experience.
