Roles and Responsibilities:
- Electrical and Mechanical troubleshooter
- Be able to perform standard mechanical assembly procedures
- Repair and Assembly of WTG 750KW, -5/-6MW and -x MW turbines.
- Maintain proper handling of GE tools and equipment.
- Occasionally required to work in tight areas, ladders, scissor lift, greater than 4m high off ground.
- Occasionally required to perform repair operations uptower
- Possess thorough knowledge and ability to use all tools associated with assembling units according to required specifications:
- lifting equipment, wall and overhead cranes
- Hydraulic and electric Torque tools
- Specific hydraulic pullers for disassembly operations
- Other Tools included but not limited to impact drills, magnetic drills, drill press, angle grinders, sanders, basic hand tools (manual and pneumatic)
- Measurement Tools, calibers, oil flushing equipment.
- Read and understand mechanical layout, engineering drawings
- Follow all EH&S guidelines and policies
- Follow good environmental practices and waste management procedures. Segregate waste in the pertinent containers at the Repair Hall
Qualifications:
- Mechanical or Electrical School Diploma
- Use of lifting equipment, such as overhead and wall cranes, as well as lifting methods and practices by using appropriate slings, chains, hooks, etc..
- Training on tightening practices and tools.
- Ability to read, understand and follow mechanical and electrical engineering drawings
- Self-motivated to work with minimal guidance and willingness to learn from others
- Ability and Willingness to work at heights and confined spaces.
- Ability and willingness to work various shifts and overtime on short notice, in order to meet business needs
- Ability to follow instructions and be willing to work outside under adverse weather conditions
- GWO training would be a plus
For candidates applying to a Canadian-based position, the pay range for this position is between $60k and $70K CAD. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set.
