Type Testing & Validation Leader - Bushings

Job Description Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Type Testing & Validation Manager to lead and manage all type testing activities for our Bushings Product Line. This role involves driving the strategic planning, execution, and continuous improvement of type test programs to ensure product compliance, quality, and alignment with business needs. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in type testing, regulatory compliance, and a proven ability to liaise effectively with internal teams and external customers.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the gap analysis of standard type tests on bushings, identifying missing or insufficient testing and defining corrective action plans.
- Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of type testing for standard and non-standard bushings, both on ongoing production orders and dedicated projects.
- Ensure all type tests comply with applicable industry standards, regulatory requirements, and certification schemes (e.g., IEC, IEEE, ISO), and stay updated on evolving regulations affecting bushings.
- Collaborate closely with commercial and tendering teams to verify the existence and adequacy of type tests for current and new bushing designs, providing expert technical input to support customer bids and product launches.
- Manage the preparation and validation of all necessary documentation, test reports, and evidence to support regulatory certification, audits, and customer requirements.
- Maintain and continuously update the type test databases, including specialized records for seismic and other special tests, ensuring data accuracy and accessibility.
- Lead the implementation and enhancement of the type testing module within the OMW system to streamline workflows and improve data management.
- Identify and implement improvements in testing methodologies, tools, and processes to optimize efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product reliability.
- Act as the primary technical liaison with customers and regulatory bodies regarding type testing activities, providing clear communication on test plans, results, compliance status, and addressing inquiries or concerns to build strong client relationships.
- Support and mentor team members involved in testing activities, promoting best practices and a culture of continuous quality improvement.
- Coordinate with R&D, Quality Assurance, Production Engineering, and Regulatory Affairs teams to ensure testing strategies align with product development, manufacturing requirements, and regulatory expectations.

Qualifications:
- Significant experience managing type testing activities, preferably in electrical or mechanical component industries, with a focus on bushings or similar products.
- Strong knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements related to type testing and product certification (e.g., IEC, IEEE, ..).
- Demonstrated leadership skills with experience managing technical teams or projects.
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Proficiency in documentation management and database systems; knowledge of OMW or similar ERP systems is a plus.
- Effective communication skills for interfacing with technical teams, commercial functions, customers, and regulatory authorities.
- Degree in Engineering or a related technical field preferred.
