Trainer Instructor, Grid Software
Job Description Summary
Preferred candidate must reside in or willing to relocate to either Bellevue, WA or Melbourne, FL area in a hybrid schedule with at least 2+ days/week in office (relocation support provided).
GE Vernova's Grid Software team is looking for a technically deep, engaging instructor who has lived the world of transmission, distribution, GIS, and/or markets and is ready to help others master it.
We're looking for a former power systems or computer science engineer, or systems specialist who has worked hands-on with grid software technologies across transmission, distribution, GIS, and/or market systems, understands utility operations and can translate that expertise into training that actually sticks.
You'll split your time between delivering live training (remote and in-person) to internal teams and customers and developing and maintaining the course materials that support it. You'll own both sides, the classroom and the curriculum.
This role sits within the Electrification team and reports to the Learning & Development leadership, working closely with technical teams and software product managers.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
Deliver High-Impact Training
• Lead instructor-led training sessions, both remote and in-person, covering GE Vernova's Performance GridOS product suites across transmission, distribution, GIS, and markets domains
• Translate complex technical concepts, automation, electrical distribution operations into clear accessible learning experiences for a range of technical audiences
• Support customers and internal teams in understanding software applications and navigating technology transitions
• Facilitate engaging sessions through demonstrations, hands-on labs, Q&A, and interactive exercises
• Occasional domestic and international travel for on-site training delivery (a few times per year)

Build and Maintain Course Content
• Develop, update, and maintain training materials including presentations, user manuals, and hands-on lab exercises
• Keep content current with each new software release, feature update, and evolving best practice
• Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), the Learning & Development team, and software product managers to ensure technical accuracy and relevance
• Contribute your field expertise to shape courseware that reflects how the software is actually used in power, energy, and utility environments
Assess, Iterate, and Improve
• Evaluate learner progress through assessments and provide constructive, actionable feedback
• Gather and incorporate participant feedback to continuously improve training effectiveness
• Maintain records of attendance, progress, and training outcomes
Required Qualifications
• Graduate/Post-Graduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or Computer Science Engineering background or equivalent hands-on experience in the power, energy, or utility domain
• 3-5+ years of direct, hands-on experience in transmission, distribution, GIS, and/or market systems within an electric utility or related environment
• Strong knowledge of utility industry operations and grid software applications
• Energy/utility domain knowledge, along with technical understanding or proficiency with coding, Linux, and Kubernetes
• Experience or understanding working on Linux based products
• Working knowledge of programming and databases like Oracle/SQL
• Strong presentation and facilitation skills
• Ability and willingness to work across global time zones (India, Europe, North America)
• Located in or willing to relocate to Bellevue, WA or Melbourne, FL in a hybrid schedule with at least 2+ days/week in office (relocation support provided)
Desired Qualifications
• Prior experience delivering technical training to customers or internal teams, or a background in teaching methods
• Experience with ADMS, AEMS, GridOS, or similar utility/grid software platforms
• Experience with software implementation or deployment projects
• Familiarity with Kafka, Data Fabric, DDLR, or Foundation components within grid software ecosystems
• Familiarity with Git, GitHub, Jenkins, Grafana, and YAML in a grid software context
• Background with competitor DMS/EMS products.

Relocation Assistance Provided: Yes
For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $91,400.00 and $152,200.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set.
Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
