Job Description Summary
Technician role will work as part of the Global Supply Chain organization. The Technician's main responsibility will be assembly, test,fault diagnosis abd repair of Dissolved Gas Analysis instruments and subassemblies.
TheTechician will work ina flow environment based on Lean disciplines and will be required to cross-train facilitating flexible work practices.
Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Assembly and test of Dissolved Gas Analysis (DGA) instruments and subassemblies
- Using test equipment and computer software to monitor,diagnose and repair equipment under test
- Assemble, install and tes comms modules in DGA instruments
- Train colleagues on assembly and test processes
- Coordination between assembly / test/ shipping team to sequence and prioritize daily customer requirement
- Plan and schedule production build sequence
- Working from procedures and specifications and associated documentation
- Liasing with key stakeholders ; internal departments, team leaders , Engineering and other departments within the factory
- Achiving production and quality targets
Required Qualifications:
- Hold a min.of a HNC or equivalent qualification in Electrical and/or Electronic / Telecommunication Engineering (or experience of testing,analysis and repair of DGA equipment)
- Ability to use test equipment and computer software to monitor, diagnose and repair equipment under test
- Ability to read , understand and work from engineering drawings
- Ability to perform calibration testing of reference and test equipment
- Experience of cabling and wiring assembly, board soldering, crimping techniques
- Problem solving skills,showing initiative and creative thinking
- Computer literate with a sound knowledge of MS Office
- Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with customers and colleagues
- Flexibility to move between work areas as required and to work flexible hours as demand requires
- Knowledge of Lean principles including single piece flow,5S and standard work
- Experience of participation in and contribution to improvement activities and kaizen events
