Job Description Summary

Job Description

Join us and help power the energy transition

You play an important part in delivering innovative technology that supports a more sustainable energy future. As a Test Technician in our Grid Solutions manufacturing team in Stafford, you help ensure our high-voltage products are tested safely, accurately, and to the highest quality standards before they reach customers around the world.

This is a permanent, site-based, shift-based role where you work hands-on with advanced equipment, support critical manufacturing activity, and contribute to technologies that help strengthen and modernise power networks.

What you'll do

You carry out routine production testing of high-voltage direct current and related power products in line with manufacturing and project requirements.

You will also:

  • Diagnose test failures and help identify faults down to component level
  • Support test engineers and the wider manufacturing team to resolve technical issues quickly and effectively
  • Carry out routine test-related processes and checks accurately
  • Support the maintenance, calibration, and servicing of test equipment
  • Assist with test equipment upgrades and product changeovers
  • Complete daily safety checks and maintain clear, accurate documentation
  • Follow safe working practices at all times and take an active role in creating a safe working environment
  • Act as a Person in Charge when required

What you bring

You bring hands-on experience from a manufacturing or industrial test environment and enjoy solving practical technical problems. You are proactive, safety-focused, and ready to learn.

We're particularly interested in candidates who have:

  • Experience working in a test environment, ideally with electrical or high-voltage equipment
  • A technical electrical qualification or equivalent practical training
  • Knowledge of manufacturing test equipment, including automated test systems
  • The ability to diagnose faults and support effective technical problem-solving
  • A strong focus on quality, safety, and getting the job done right
  • Good communication skills and the confidence to work closely with colleagues across the site
  • Good written and spoken English

It would be helpful if you also have:

  • Experience working with equipment up to 10kV or high-current low-voltage systems
  • Knowledge of high-voltage direct current product testing

If you don't meet every preferred point but have relevant experience and the motivation to grow, we'd still like to hear from you.

Why join us

You join a team that plays a direct role in delivering technologies that support the global shift to cleaner energy. Based at our Stafford site, you work in an environment where engineering, manufacturing, testing, and innovation come together in one place. This gives you the opportunity to see the impact of your work firsthand and be part of meaningful, technically exciting projects.

What we offer

We offer a permanent opportunity in a dynamic international business, along with competitive benefits and development opportunities. You'll also have access to private health insurance and the chance to build your skills in an important and growing area of the energy sector.
