Job Description Summary

The Technical Tendering Specialist plays a key role in the preparation of technical and commercial proposals for the products manufactured by the assigned plant and serves as the primary interface between the production site and the external sales organization.

Key Responsibilities

Review customer technical specifications and, where necessary, conduct a "bid review" in collaboration with other site departments depending on the project's complexity (R&D, Purchasing, Project Management, etc.). Maintain regular communication with Regional Sales Managers and Account Managers to ensure the highest level of support in addressing the needs of international customers with whom the unit interacts on a daily basis. Follow up on opportunities to maximize the chances of securing projects.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing commercial quotations, starting with the collection of technical and market information. This includes reviewing customer requirements, identifying standard and non-standard products to be quoted, applying the correct costing, providing internal support to assess project feasibility, negotiating details and possible design variations with the sales team, and implementing specific actions aimed at strengthening the company's technical and commercial position against competitors.

The candidate will then proceed with product costing and the preparation of commercial proposals in collaboration with the sales department. Upon receipt of an order, they may organize a kick-off meeting with other departments to transfer and share project details, ensuring a smooth order execution phase. The role also requires constant interaction with the Purchasing and Quality departments.

Key Requirements

  • Excellent command of Italian and English.
  • Knowledge of an additional foreign language (especially German) will be considered an advantage.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Materials Engineering. Applications from Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Technicians will also be considered.
  • Willingness to travel, primarily within Europe, to meet customers.
  • Management of customer visits to the production facility.
  • Management and preparation of bids and participation in public tenders and contracts.
  • Good working knowledge of SAP for consultation and data retrieval.
  • Solid basic knowledge or relevant experience in electrical and/or mechanical engineering.
  • Ability to read and correctly interpret technical drawings.
  • Fast learner with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Proactive mindset and commitment to identifying ways to improve service quality and streamline processes

A National Collective Bargaining Agreement ('NCBA' - Metalworking) is applicable in relation to the position. Below, we indicate the relevant provisions of the remuneration regulations applicable at the Employer. The available benefits based on the currently effective CBA and company policies include the following:

Stipendio Base: La retribuzione seguirà le tabelle salariali previste dal CCNL di categoria Metalmeccanico Industria

Base salary: The remuneration is established according to the Metalworking CBA salary scale, which defines job groups and minimum salary levels.

Pensione Integrativa (Cometa): Tutti i livelli sono eligibili, ad eccezione dei dirigenti.
Contributo del datore di lavoro: 2% (2,2% se under 35). Contributo del dipendente: 1,2%. Base di calcolo: retribuzione mensile lorda.

Pension Fund (Cometa): All levels are eligible, except executives (dirigenti).
Employer Contribution: 2% (2.2% if under 35). Employee Contribution: 1.2%. Base: monthly gross salary.

Daytime overtime Saturday, Sunday and public holidays: First eight hours: 50%, Beyond eight hours: 55%

Night overtime Monday to Friday

  • 50% for office staff and non-shift production workers for overtime worked between 8:00 PM and 8:00 AM
  • 50% for shift production workers for overtime worked between 6:00 PM and 6:00 AM

Night overtime Saturday, Sunday and public holidays:

  • First eight hours: 60% for office staff, 55% for non-shift production workers, 60% for shift production workers
  • Beyond eight hours: 75% for office staff, 65% for non-shift production workers, 75% for shift production workers

In case of compensatory time off, the premiums provided for under the applicable national collective bargaining agreement (CCNL) apply.
