Technical Leader - Testing
Job Description Summary
Essential Functions / Responsibilities:
Provide technical leadership to the validation engineering team, while managing full NPI program launch and contributed to prototype execution. Coordinate complete validation campaigns at different test sites and guide team members in the loads domain along with other validation sciences (such as instrumentation, data acquisition, storage and processing). Coordinate with cross functional teams and third parties to build up the validation and testing strategy for NPI programs within MWC Segment. Serve as technical leader for NPI programs and support team members focused on Prototype installation and Loads Validation. Develop NPI standard work to support certification campaign efforts ensuring that the IEC standards are achieved. Lead certification and testing tools development strategy to support critical business validation efforts. Act as VPR (Validation Planning Review) stakeholder ensuring that field testing is appropriate and can deliver required system performance understanding. Orchestrate reporting and communications to certification bodies. Interpret abnormal data and lead troubleshooting. Conduct loads data analysis and present the results to internal stakeholders.
Job Description
Qualifications / Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or related. Ten (10) years of experience in validation and field testing of wind turbines. Employer will accept a Master's degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or related and eight (8) years of experience in validation and field testing of wind turbines in lieu of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent and ten (10) years of experience as described above. Work experience to include: Seven (7) years of experience in system simulation and modeling for wind turbine design and validation; Seven (7) years of experience in Wind turbine loads measurement set-up to include data calibration and data analysis according to IEC 61400-13 standards; Experience leading full type certification campaigns for wind or renewable energy, including IEC 61400-13 or IECRE requirements; Analysis of different data formats using IMC FAMOS or MATLAB; Global cross-collaboration for New Product Implementation (NPI) testing, product certification, related problem solving, and test strategy build; and System testing to include: power performance, enhanced dynamics, and simulation testing.
