System Studies Lead Engineer (m/f/d)

L'ingénierie des systèmes est une discipline d'ingénierie interfonctionnelle axée sur une approche, un état d'esprit et un processus. Toutes les activités qui tiennent compte des besoins à la fois commerciaux et techniques des clients dans le but de fournir un produit de qualité qui réponde aux besoins des utilisateurs. Discipline qui exécute un processus robuste de conception, de création et d'optimisation de systèmes, comprenant l'identification et la quantification des exigences système, la création de concepts de conception de système alternatifs, la réalisation d'études commerciales de conception, la sélection et la mise en œuvre des meilleures conceptions et la vérification que la conception est correctement intégrée et exécutée. Processus allant du concept à l'exploitation en passant par la production.
Exerce une influence sur les opérations département et est responsable de la planification et/ou de l'exécution. Ce rôle jouit d'une certaine autonomie, mais est axé sur l'exécution d'activités au sein d'une discipline opérationnelle couverte par les pratiques et procédures fonctionnelles standard. Un certain discernement peut être nécessaire, mais généralement dans le cadre d'une orientation.

• Modelling and performing the studies; delivering study reports.
• Technical responsibility in areas of expertise.
• Provide guidance to peers on areas of expertise.
• Customer facing responsibilities.
• Processes: Develop and industrialise solution tools and processes associated with the engineering activities identified above, including design guides.
• Development: Be actively involved in new developments in HVDC technologies, implementing control and protection solutions and creating / delivering new analysis techniques and system study tools in order to provide optimized system study solutions.
• External activities: Represent the business in external events by publishing technical papers or participating in working groups (CIGRE/IEC/IEEE).
• Adherence to company policies and Code of Conduct.
• Health and Safety: consider health and safety preventions, risks, behaviors; attend EHS training.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience of network or transient studies for HVDC/FACTS/renewable energy/inverter based power systems in offshore wind, industrial, utility substations or grid interconnects.
• Able and willing to travel 20% including international and comply with GEV travel guidelines.

• Master's degree in electrical engineering including power systems and power electronics subjects with proven professional experience and technical expertise in the field of power system engineering and preferably in HVDC system studies.
• Knowledge of system tools such as SIMULINK MATLAB, DSAT.
• Independently perform in depth system studies listed below and/or specify scope, review, comment, direct/oversee 3rd party provider(s) for the studies below:
  
  
  • Grid compliance, transmission network planning.
  • Load flow and short-circuits study.
  • Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) study, Radio Frequency Interference (RFI) study.
  • Low Voltage Ride Through (LVRT), High Voltage Ride Through (HVRT) study.
  • Arc Flash.
  • Harmonic Filter Studies.
  • Protection studies ... relay coordination, unit protection, Real Time Digital Simulation (RTDS) for protection.
  • Network studies: Confirmation of the correct interaction between the equipment, its control system, and the rest of the network.
• Expertise in the use of computer mathematical and simulation tools as applied to the design of the activities.
• Strong knowledge of high-voltage substation, guidelines, local grid Ccodes and related equipment (safety, application, sizing, and integration). Moreover, ability to engineer design packages when no clear customer specification is provided.
• Professional engineering license and willing to review and seal your work and the work of others under your supervision.
• Strong knowledge on contract and project management, Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC), or Engineering Equipment Package (EEP) project execution.
• Strong understanding of civil engineering and substation related structural design requirements.
• Field-testing and commissioning experience with safe work habits.
• Knowledge of IEC and CIGRE guidelines is a plus.
• Excellent personal computer skills, including programming and design automation.
