Supplier Quality Inspector

Job Description Summary

The SQI (Supplier Quality Inspector) focuses on developing and maintaining relationships with non aluminum casted suppliers such as resin epoxy casted suppliers & machining suppliers & fabrication suppliers or other assigned suppliers to ensure they are executing the purchase orders in accordance with GEV requirements or other assigned commodities suppliers. Participate in the company initiative to ensure that the products of all deliveries are 100% part-to-print with GEV drawings and specification in prior to shipment.

Job Description

Primary Activities

• To conduct appearance inspection & dimensions inspection & package inspection & witness routine tests such as X-ray, NDT, pressure test & dielectrical test(PD/PF, BIL)... for the assgined deliveries in terms of supplier's delivery plan, and witness products' type tests such as burst test and bending test as necessary;
• To ensure all inspected products' CTQs 100% part-to-print with GEV drawings and specification;
• To complete samples' dimensions & appearance inspection activities based on GEV drawings;
• To report each delivery's products quality status and output PSI(preship inspection) reports in English;

• Expected: at least associate's degree from three-year college or university; and two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience;
• Madatory: CMM inspector qualification certificate, and capable to edit CMM measurement program indepentently;
• Preferred:
  • Previous quality inspector, machining products inspector or resin epoxy products inspector preferred;
  • Previous quality inspector in HV switchgear factory(AIS/and or GIS); or previous inspectors from the HVS products supplying scope;
  • Science or Engineering majors;

• Master to use CMM or Elbow Arm Measuremewnt Machine, and other variation & attribution characterized data inspection tools;
• Ability to read English drawings and specifications;
• Knowledge of standard sampling plans (ie. ISO2859);
• Ability to read, analyze technical procedures, drawings, governmental regulations and quality management rules;
• Ability to identify the appearance problems of casted products including the essential casting problems and or machining problems;
• Ability to do data analysis based on the inspected results and report;
• Must communicate clearly with suppliers in written and verbal means;
• Other Skills: Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form;
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variable in situations where only limited standardization exists;
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral diagram or schedule form;
• Ability to make English version inspection report;
• Ability to work independently;
• Willing to high frenquent traveling;
