Structures and Building codes Engineer
Job Description Summary
The Customer Drawings Engineering team is responsible for delivering customer drawing packages containing critical interfaces and inputs required to support power plant design. These deliverables include power train foundation interfaces and load tables. These drawings must meet building code requirements specific to the project site. The job scope includes evaluation of applicable building code and site conditions, creation of site specific foundation load tables, driving quality and consistency in the civil interface data delivered to customers.

Roles and Responsibilities
- The structure and building code expert will provide engineering support within the Plant Systems & Steam Cycle team (PSSC) as required
- Perform building code analysis with local site data to check standard design applicability
- Review customer specifications on structure and civil design, estimate impact of specific requirements on cost and cycle for GT accessories
- Communicate environmental conditions to be considered for the project to the execution team from Gas, Steam and Gen
- Gather foundation loads from System Owners, confirm applicability with building code, drive accuracy and consistency
- Provide powertrain load table for OTR projects
- Create and manage customer drawings/packages such as defining power train layout, customer connections, foundation interfaces, and equipment loading
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in structural or mechanical engineering and 1 year experience OR
- Bachelor's degree in civil or mechanical engineering and 2 years' experience
Desired Characteristics
- 2 years' experience as structural and mechanical engineer in power industry
- Expertise in main international building codes (IBC, Eurocode, ACSE, etc.)
- Knowledge of Combined Cycle Plant systems
- Effective communication and organizational skills

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $80,000.00 and $120,000.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set.
