  • Role Overview:

    The Staff Project Audit Lead is responsible for evaluating the efficacy, compliance, and performance of software project lifecycles within our service operations. This role ensures that software-based service solutions-including maintenance tools, diagnostic software, and digital service platforms-adhere to rigorous quality standards, regulatory requirements, and project management best practices. You will act as an independent reviewer, identifying risks and driving continuous improvement in our digital delivery processes.

    Key Responsibilities:
  • Audit Planning & Execution: Design and lead internal audits of software service projects, evaluating adherence to internal methodologies, SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) standards, and quality management protocols.
  • Training: Train others in the PMO and the PM function how to perform audits.
  • Compliance & Risk Management: Monitor projects for compliance with technical standards, data security policies, and regulatory obligations. Identify potential gaps, assess operational risks, and provide actionable recommendations for mitigation.
  • Performance Evaluation: Analyze project documentation, delivery timelines, and budget utilization to assess the overall health and maturity of software service initiatives.
  • Process Improvement: Partner with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Project Management, and IT) to identify process bottlenecks and implement improvements that increase efficiency and reduce delivery risk.
  • Reporting & Communication: Prepare detailed audit reports and executive summaries that clearly outline findings, root causes, and corrective action plans. Present audit results to project leads and senior stakeholders.
  • Validation: Verify that corrective actions are effectively implemented and that projects remain aligned with the strategic goals of GE Vernova's service portfolio.
  • Required Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
  • Experience: 8+ years of experience in software quality assurance, project auditing, or software project management.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall methodologies. Familiarity with modern software development practices (CI/CD, DevOps, Cloud-native applications).
  • Auditing Skills: Experience conducting internal audits and working with quality management systems (e.g., ISO standards, SOC2, or similar regulatory frameworks).
  • Analytical Ability: Ability to analyze complex data sets, interpret software project logs, and translate technical findings into business-level recommendations.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to influence stakeholders and drive change in a collaborative environment.
  • Self Starter: Can work on their own and develop a project audit program and lessons learned process and reporting.
  • Communication: Develop reports and presentations on findings and communicate to organizational peers.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Professional certifications such as CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor), PMP (Project Management Professional), or CISM (Certified Information Security Manager).
  • Experience working in the energy sector or a complex industrial software environment.
  • Background in risk management, specifically related to cybersecurity and data privacy in software services
