What impact you'll make:

As a member of the Power DT Infrastructure team, you will be an active contributor to the architecting, building and product management of core Power systems and infrastructure supporting the largest and most profitable GE Vernova segment. The Power Infrastructure team is responsible for supporting, maintaining the operations and health of Power's most critical ERPs, Database and web services.

What you'll do

• Manage the installation, configuration, and maintenance of SAP systems, ensuring optimal performance and availability.

• Monitor SAP system health, performance, and security, implementing proactive measures to prevent issues and ensure stability.

• Perform regular system backups, recovery operations, and disaster recovery planning to protect critical data and ensure business continuity.

• Optimize SAP system performance through tuning, resource allocation, and capacity planning.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, functional consultants, and business users, to ensure SAP systems meet business requirements.

• Implement and maintain SAP Basis best practices, including system updates, patch management, and kernel upgrades.

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex SAP Basis issues, working closely with SAP support and other technical teams to minimize downtime and ensure customer satisfaction.

• Document technical specifications, system configurations, and procedures to maintain a knowledge base for future reference and training purposes.

• Communicate system status, performance metrics, and improvement initiatives to executive leadership and stakeholders, providing clear and concise updates.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience/knowledge

• 5-8 years of experience in SAP Basis administration, with a strong focus on SAP systems management.

• In-depth knowledge of SAP Basis components, including SAP NetWeaver, ABAP, and SAP HANA.

• Experience with SAP system installation, configuration, and maintenance in both on-premises and cloud environments.

• Strong understanding of database management systems (Oracle, SAP HANA, SQL Server) and their integration with SAP systems.

• Certifications such as SAP Certified Technology Associate - System Administration (SAP Basis 7.50) or similar are highly desirable.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.

• Deep knowledge of SAP Basis components and experience with SAP S/4HANA.

• Proven experience managing SAP systems in both on-premises and cloud environments.

• Track record of optimizing SAP system performance with measurable improvements.

• Strong experience working with cross-functional teams to deliver successful SAP solutions.
