The NAM Industrial Technical Application Engineering Lead - Monitoring and Diagnostics is responsible for
providing technical sales support on the GE Digital Energy substation automation product portfolio, including
working closely with the customer to determine requirements, demo solutions and promote the business value
proposition of Digital Energy's products and solutions. Responsible for leading the regional M&D technical
application engineering activity related to Industrial segment and ICM strategic growth. #LI-ML2

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Lead TAE for Strategic engagement with Key Industrial accounts headquartered in NAM.
  • Introduction and execution support of ICM offering with Key Industrials in NAM.
  • Conduct customer fleet assessment to evaluate potential for growth of current M&D offerings & future needs and provide feedback to RSM and business. This should include current fleet of monitored asset, unmonitored asset, and customer medium to long term plans.
  • Be the voice of the customer by gathering feedback on current M&D fleet and services.
  • Conduct periodic review of performance as supplier to customers to derive M&D's value to the customer.
  • Liaison with product management team, engineering on customer feedback while prioritizing key customer pain points.
  • Manage and track using KPI key pilot project to ensure determined scope of the final delivery meets or exceeds customer expectations.
  • Provide technical and product training to customers as needed
  • Support regional channel partners with product training and transactional process
  • Assists with technical development of proposals, assuring compliance to Customer's specs by working closely with engineering, product managers, and proposal managers to ensure valid statement of product or work for competitive proposal generation
  • Participate and contribute to industry standards and circles such IEEE, Cigre, and others
  • Acts as expert consultant to guide customer in planning and development of technical solutions
  • Acts as technical support to the commercial teams, providing technical expertise during Customer presentations, demonstrations, evaluations and testing.
  • Track issues discovered during demonstration, evaluation, and testing of product and follow through with Technology team to provide a resolution.
  • Lead technical presentations presented to customers in support of sales or service.
  • Provide product training to customers and sales force.
  • Assist customers in product testing at customer location.
  • Work directly with customers to influence technical specifications and support sales team to achieve closing key orders
  • Responsible for the pre-sales technical support of customers and the sales team
  • Take customer requests for quote and develop a product proposal around a particular application
  • Outline, present, and sell the value of GE products and services that can benefit GE's customer needs
  • Develop and cultivate long-term relationships at the technical levels of customer organizations
  • Coordinate with sales teams to make customer calls and presentations and participate in bid meetings and site walk-through meetings with customer as necessary
  • Support the development of new leads and market opportunities in the Sales Region
  • Support Commercial Segment Leaders and Product Line Leaders with definition and execution of the Product Line strategy, with particular emphasis on Product enhancement, New Product Introductions and value proposition
  • Provide an essential link from the customer to marketing, engineering and product development teams
  • Partner with peers and management to enhance selling techniques and approaches in line with both the region's growth objectives and initiatives
  • Provide market dynamics input such as competitive intelligence and industry trends to the Marketing and Business teams
  • Prepare and present technical presentations, white papers, and case studies at industry conferences

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or an equivalent technical degree.
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in substation asset monitoring
  • Able to contribute to technical papers
  • Excellent verbal and written skills in English
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% of the time

Desired Characteristics

  • Excellent knowledge of M&D product line and services
  • Good knowledge of the Salesforceplatforms for CRM, Speak4GE, ServiceMax
  • Knowledge of contractual terms and conditions.
  • Familiarity with M&D Customers Service process and Engineering escalation
  • Familiarity of the quality issue relations process such as 8D, RCA, CI
  • Hands on expertise in configuring and troubleshooting Transformer Dissolved Gas Analysis devices.
  • Transformer monitoring and diagnostic application expertise
  • Experience working successfully in cross-functional teams
  • Ability to maintain professional demeanor and interact with all levels of customers & Customer focused attitude with proven positive results
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $113 200,00 and $188 800,00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set.

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
