The Aero Repair & Industrialization Senior Engineer at GE Vernova plays a critical role in advancing repair and replacement-part solutions for GE Vernova's aeroderivative gas turbine platforms, including the LM2500, LM6000, and LMS100. In this role, you will drive repair strategy for complex Hot Gas Path (HGP), High-Pressure Turbine (HPT), and Low-Pressure Turbine (LPT) components-partnering across Design Engineering, Materials, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and external repair sources to deliver safe, compliant, and cost-effective solutions for complex aeroderivative gas turbine components. This role requires deep technical expertise in Gas Turbine component repair processes, materials and coatings, a proactive problem-solving mindset, and the ability to drive execution across multiple projects while driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on execution, with a primary focus on component repair development for aeroderivative gas turbines. Key responsibilities include:

  • Serve as a technical resource and subject matter expert for Combustion, Hot Gas Path (HGP), High-Pressure Turbine (HPT), and Low-Pressure Turbine (LPT) component repair development, materials, and coatings, providing guidance to project teams and stakeholders.
  • Lead repair development and industrialization projects from concept through qualification and implementation for complex aeroderivative gas turbine components.
  • Evaluate component repairability, define repair limits, and perform engineering analyses to substantiate repair methods and component life.
  • Develop, review, and approve repair procedures, work instructions, drawings, specifications, and other technical documentation to ensure compliance with engineering and quality standards.
  • Partner with Design Engineering, Materials, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and external vendors to execute repair industrialization plans.
  • Support new repair development, process qualification, and repair standardization across internal and external repair sources.
  • Provide technical oversight for special processes such as welding, brazing, heat treatment, machining, coatings, thermal spray, EDM, and non-destructive testing.
  • Serve as a technical focal point for repair-related issues, including customer inquiries, field issues, departure records, and process escalations.
  • Support the quoting, planning, and execution of new repair development opportunities aligned with customer and business requirements.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance across cross-functional teams to strengthen organizational capability and engineering rigor.
  • Lead and participate in technical reviews, program reviews, and tollgate assessments to ensure progress, quality, and readiness for implementation.
  • Ensure technical data, repair documentation, and engineering records are properly created, maintained, and incorporated into applicable manuals, shop documentation, and business systems.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Minimum of 10+ years of relevant engineering experience in aerospace gas turbine component repair, repair development, or manufacturing engineering.
  • Demonstrated expertise in HGP, HPT, and LPT materials, coatings, repair processes & qualification
  • Proven technical leadership, sound engineering judgment, and strong decision-making capability

Eligibility Requirements

  • Willingness to travel as required to repair facilities, suppliers, or customer locations
  • This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent upon the ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.

Desired Characteristics

  • Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting technical, schedule, and cost objectives
  • 8+ years of experience in aftermarket repair development for aerospace gas turbine hot gas path components
  • Broad knowledge of gas turbine components and modules, including compressors, turbines, combustors, rotors, structures, and airfoils
  • Experience with special processes and inspection methods including FPI, X-ray, Eddy Current, and related technologies
  • Strong analytical capability, attention to detail, and structured problem-solving skills

Relocation Assistance Provided: Yes

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $131,700.00 and $219,300.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set.

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
