Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Translate asset strategies and failure modes into analytics: identify critical tags/signals, define data requirements, and map sensor data to failure mechanisms and operational states.
  • Perform time-series analysis on industrial data (historian/SCADA/PLC, CMMS/EAM/APM) to detect degradation, anomalies, and precursors to failure; engineer features aligned to specific failure modes.
  • Build and validate analytics in Python (rules, thresholds, statistical/ML methods) to capture early warning indicators for CBM and predictive maintenance; document assumptions and acceptance criteria.
  • Apply and document FMEA and RCA; collaborate with SMEs to define detection logic and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) tied to operating procedures and maintenance plans.
  • Configure and support deployment of asset health analytics in APM/condition monitoring platforms (e.g., SmartSignal or equivalent), including tag mapping, thresholds, alert logic, and tuning; support monitoring and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with data/platform engineering and data scientists to implement pipelines, ensure data quality/lineage, and operationalize analytics per established standards.
  • Create clear narratives and playbooks linking alerts to failure mechanisms and recommended actions; train operations/maintenance teams on interpretation and response.
  • Contribute reusable templates (FMEA libraries, failure signatures, tagging standards) and coach junior engineers/analysts on asset analytics best practices.
  • Adhere to governance, safety, and compliance requirements; ensure secure handling of operational data and alignment with plant procedures and SLAs.

Education Qualification

For roles outside USA: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Instrumentation) or STEM with minimum 8 years of total experience, including 5-8 years of hands-on operations and maintenance experience in Oil & Gas, Fossil Power, or Renewable Power.
