Sourcing Manager - SMR Project Fulfillment
Job Description Summary
GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear (GVH) is responsible for the deployment of GVH's BWRX-300 small modular reactor (SMR). In this role, you will lead a team focused on new plant fulfillment activities throughout the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) lifecycle of new and advanced nuclear projects. You will work cross-functionally and globally to execute complex procurement fulfillment in support of X300 SMR projects. This role will be initially focused on the Japanese supply base for Ontario Power Generation (OPG)'s SMR projects.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
Ensure that the team is meeting all of the procurement activity milestones, including but not limited to, procurement package accuracy, all engineering required documentation is accurate and complete and that the processes are structured and flowing to support business needs and on time delivery.
Provide key procurement process interface with Engineering, Quality, Sourcing, Suppliers, Projects, Logistics, Commercial, Construction and Site personnel.
Establish focused and productive standard work with Japanese supply base ensuring that we are highlighting challenges, supplier needs and areas of improvement.
Work with global commodity leaders to develop work plans and sourcing schedule activities.
Ensure project engineers and schedulers are including activities into project schedule.
Ensure that the RACI is being followed, hold team accountable and provide support as needed.
Point of contact for GVH teams to interface with the supplier. Point of contact for supplier questions and resolution of issues and non-conformances.
Oversee supplier schedule, progress updates, documentation submittals, and fabrication progress.
Facilitate coordination to input and harmonize supplier schedule and project construction schedule.
Lead a sourcing fulfillment team (3-5 employees); promote team engagement; encourage excellence in compliance, customer service, safety, quality and productivity.
Support Lean culture by working cross functionally to improve purchasing process and supporting systems.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college, university, OR high school diploma and 10 years of experience in procurement engineering.
At least five years of experience in sourcing, project management, commercial, engineering, manufacturing, or quality discipline in a technical and/or highly regulated industry.
Ability to travel up to 50% of the time, to support in-person meetings in Japan as needed.
Ability to operate a computer proficiently
Bachelor's Degree in supply chain, business, or engineering from an accredited college or university.
Experience with CSA (Canadian Standards Association) standards.
Experience in a managerial, project management or technical leadership role
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
Nuclear industry experience; working knowledge of Nuclear Codes & Standards as they relate to procurement activities.
Basic technical knowledge, including (a) ability to read and understand engineering drawings, (b) basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical and materials component manufacturing specifications.
Experience in fabrication of heavy equipment.
Strong interpersonal, influencing, and leadership skills.
Strong oral and written communication skills, with a focus on customer service.
Effective problem identification and solution skills.
Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage priorities. Strong planning and time management skills.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $125,000.00 and $208,300.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set.
Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
