Job Description Summary

As a Shipping and Receiving clerk, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of materials throughout our facility. You'll be responsible for the handling, movement, and organization of materials to support production, shipping, and receiving operations. Your attention to detail and commitment to accuracy will directly contribute to the success of our manufacturing operations and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Verify and keep records on incoming and outgoing shipments and pack and prepare items for shipment
  • Compare identifying information and count items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify against bills of lading, invoices, order or other records
  • Pack items in customer's containers, wooden or cardboard containers. Nail covers on wooden crates, bind containers with metal tape using strapping machine. Stamp, stencil or glues identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers.
  • Unpack and examine incoming shipments, record shortages or overages. Route items to departments
  • Operate forklift truck or use other material handling equipment to move, convey from shipping or receiving platform to storage area
  • Complete and maintain necessary paperwork such as bills of lading, outgoing and incoming lists U.P.S. paperwork
  • Assist in loading and unloading trucks
  • Perform visual inspection of items prior to packing for shipment
  • Report unusual problems or conditions to supervisor
  • Observe company safety rules and regulations
  • Perform, as assigned, other similar or related duties

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to work 2nd Shift (2pm-10pm or (1pm-9pm)
  • Minimum 1-year manufacturing environment experience.
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to lift/push/pull at least fifty pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Ability to work overtime including occasional weekend shifts

Desired Characteristics

  • Experience in shipping or warehousing
  • Ability to follow written instructions and take verbal instructions for multiple assembly tasks in a manufacturing shop environment
  • Demonstrates effective communication and follow-up skills
  • Able to work with computerized shop floor tools
  • Strong team player and flexible willingness to move to different areas
  • Ability to work alone or as part of a team with minimal supervision

Pay Transparency:

The base hourly pay range for this position is $22/hr - $27.50/hr plus 10% shift differential. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set.
