Service Specialist (Power System)
Job Description Summary
The energy grid is changing - and the software that runs it needs to keep up. As a Service Specialist on GE Vernova's Digital Energy team, you'll sit at the intersection of technology and the power industry, helping customers in Taiwan and across the Asia-Pacific region get the most from our SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) and EMS (Energy Management System) platforms. Whether you're shaping a technical proposal, guiding a software deployment, or working through a complex integration challenge, your work will directly support a cleaner, more reliable energy future.
This early career role is for someone who is energized by new challenges, curious about how things work, and ready to grow their expertise in one of the most dynamic sectors in tech.
Job Description
What You'll Do
- Support technical project delivery - contribute to software implementation, power application tuning, system integration, and troubleshooting tasks under the guidance of Project and Delivery Managers, helping to keep scope, schedule and quality on track.
- Assist with customer engagement - participate in client meetings and product demonstrations, help customer requirements, and support the preparation of technical proposals with guidance from senior colleagues.
- Learn and apply product knowledge - develop your understanding of our SCADA and EMS platforms and contribute to identifying opportunities for process improvements, cost savings, or quality enhancements as your expertise grows.
- Collaborate across teams - work alongside APAC and global colleagues, including DevOps, contributing to a smooth project experience and supporting handovers to maintenance teams at project close-out.
Who You Are
You're a technically curious problem-solver who enjoys working with customers as much as you enjoy diving into complex systems. You bring a collaborative mindset, a genuine interest in the energy industry, and the communication skills to bridge the gap between technical detail and client needs.
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field - or equivalent practical experience;
- Proficiency in both English and Mandarin (written and spoken), enabling effective engagement with local Taiwan clients and global project teams;
- Some experience in software development or technical delivery;
- Familiarity with the electricity industry, including SCADA and/or EMS platforms;
- To be based in Taipei for first 3 years during project development phase before relocating to Kaohsiung.
Preferred
- Experience working on customer-facing technology projects in an energy or utilities environment.
- Exposure to modern IT software technologies and current trends in energy management systems.
- Comfort working across cross-functional or cross-regional teams.
