Job Description Summary

We are seeking a proactive Commodity Manager to lead sourcing strategies for fluid-related components within our Gas Power business. You will own the full commercial lifecycle of your assigned commodities, balancing project demands with long-term supplier development. This role is ideal for a results-oriented professional who excels at cross-functional collaboration and thrives in high-stakes negotiation environments.

Job Description

Strategic Impact & Responsibilities:

  • Drive Commodity Strategy: Develop and execute category strategies that align with Gas Power objectives, ensuring a robust pipeline of high-performing, cost-competitive, and reliable suppliers.
  • Negotiate & Influence: Lead complex contract negotiations, securing optimal commercial terms while mitigating risk. Leverage data-driven insights to influence stakeholders and drive internal alignment.
  • Performance Optimization: Actively manage supplier performance across the SQDC (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost) spectrum. Proactively identify bottlenecks and resolve escalations before they impact project timelines.
  • Lead Process Innovation: Identify and spearhead process improvements to increase sourcing efficiency and supply chain resiliency.
  • Technical Stewardship: Build deep subject matter expertise in fluid commodities, serving as a technical advisor to engineering and project teams.
  • Mentorship: Provide guidance and support to less experienced team members, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous learning.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally ~50%.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or a related field
  • 5+yrs of experience in fluid systems in the gas power industry.
  • 5+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, commodity management, or supply chain, ideally within a manufacturing or industrial engineering context.
  • Extensive experience with developing sourcing strategies and negotiating contracts.

Desired Characteristics

  • Proven track record of managing supplier relationships, navigating complex contract negotiations, and reading legal terms.
  • Strong analytical mindset; ability to interpret data to inform strategic purchasing decisions.
  • Demonstrated project management experience, with the ability to lead initiatives through to completion in a cross-functional environment.
  • Strong verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at various levels.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $94,600.00 and $157,700.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set.

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
