Senior Service Engineer - Digital Implementation Services
Job Description Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated engineer to join our dynamic team and leverage your Aero and Thermal expertise to configure and deploy digital twin software products for power generation. In this role, you will implement new, commercially reusable analytics solutions for production systems, either on-premises or in the cloud, to gather valuable insights from customer assets and provide expert operational advice. Your responsibilities will include performing in-depth data analysis using a variety of data sources, utilizing a standard suite of platforms, modules, and algorithms, and developing code components, configurations, and digital twin solutions tailored for power plants.
You will be required to bring your Gas Turbine Combustion Engineering and Thermal Performance expertise to the table, driving consistent functional specifications and common global processes for project implementations. Your role will involve activities aimed at better understanding and ultimately meeting customer expectations, responsible for departmental operations planning and execution, or focused on the execution of professional activities within a technical discipline.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the implementation of Emissions, and Generation Performance management solutions utilizing the Software Suite.
- Own technical deliverables during the entire lifecycle of the projects.
- Engage throughout the full lifecycle of assigned projects, participating in decisions on architecture, design, and functionality to keep programs on track in terms of budget, time, and customer expectations.
- Provides Gas Turbine Combustion and Thermal Performance technical expertise and develops technical solutions (configuration, model tuning, performance estimation, etc.) as part of the pre-ITO (requisition) process while interfacing with the commercial team and customers.
- Possesses a deep understanding of relevant markets and customer economic value that aid winning bid strategies.
- Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrated with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market.
- Uses some judgment and has some ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated power generation processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles.
- Uses technical experience and analytical thinking.
- Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.
- Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
- May lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements.
- Explains information, developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field.
- Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.
- Apply machine learning and first principle models to capture complex processes in generation
- Use Python to develop production ready analytics to produce insights into historical and real-time operations.
- Provide communication, training, documentation and change management deliverables required to increase adoption.
- Find and interpret data sources, manages large amounts of data, merges data sources together, ensures consistency of data-sets, creates visualizations to aid in understanding data, and communicates insights / findings in simplified way to reach people who do not understand complex statistics.
- Work closely with the client to understand their needs and develop strategies tailored to their organization through site assessments.
- Also make standard recommendations on workflow, application, interface, reports, testing and uploads to customers through the implementation process. Is responsible for go-live readiness and support as well as post-live checkups and will be required to work collaboratively with internal team members and clients to ensure customer satisfaction.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Data Science or related field from an accredited university or college
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in a related engineering or technical role, with a focus on power generation, gas turbine combustion, or thermal performance.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Python programming and data science techniques.
- Experience with machine learning algorithms and first principle models.
- Strong background in modeling and process control.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools and techniques.
- Experience in handling large datasets, ensuring data consistency, and merging data sources.
Domain Expertise:
- Deep understanding of gas turbine combustion and thermal performance.
- Knowledge of best practices in power generation and relevant markets.
- Awareness of competitive landscape and differentiating factors in the market.
Desired Characteristics:
- Strong communication skills to convey complex technical information in a simplified manner.
- Ability to provide training, documentation, and change management deliverables.
- Skill in explaining information and bringing team members to consensus around technical topics.
- Experience working closely with clients to understand their needs and develop tailored strategies.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $91,400.00 and $152,200.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set.
Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
