Role Summary:
As a Senior Project Manager at GE Vernova, you will be responsible for the successful execution and delivery of complex Grid Automation projects with customer full satisfaction. These projects involve a combination of protection relays, bay controller units, auxiliary relays, telecom equipment (switches, routers, firewalls), and servers running various applications such as human-machine interfaces, automation algorithms, and archiving processes.
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for financial and contractual execution of assigned projects through established company procedures, maintaining a high standard of Safety, Quality, on-time delivery, scope management, risk mitigation, and financial control.
Solid communication skills will be a key asset for the Senior Project Manager while reporting project progress to key stakeholders, including customers, end users, internal team members and leadership.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Project Execution:
- Lead the execution of complex projects within the Grid Automation solutions domain.
- Ensure alignment of project goals with overall business objectives.
- Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources effectively.
- Ensure safety and quality through the overall execution cycle.
- Stakeholder Management:
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
- Ensure clear communication and manage expectations throughout the life cycle of all projects in the portfolio.
- Create a strong customer intimacy and ensure its satisfaction during execution.
- Project Planning, Scheduling and Resources:
- Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
- Utilize planning and scheduling tools to monitor progress, manage the critical path and deliver the project in time.
- Ensure optimal usage of project resources partnering with the Engineering and Services department.
- Project Budget:
- Ensure optimal budget control developing clear work breakdown structure and monitoring Earned Value (EV) also called Budgeted Cost of Work Performed (BCWP).
- Enhance project financial defining saving strategy and maximizing variation orders during execution.
- Risk Management:
- Identify, assess, and mitigate risks identified during project execution.
- Implement contingency plans to address unforeseen challenges.
- Quality Assurance:
- Ensure all project deliverables meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular reviews and audits to maintain high standards of project execution.
- Reporting and Documentation:
- Prepare and present regular status reports to senior management and stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive project documentation.
Required Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in project management within the energy or Grid Automation sector.
- Proven experience in managing complex, multi-faceted projects.
- Experience with protection relays, bay controller units, auxiliary relays, and telecom equipment is highly desirable.
- Certifications:
- PMP (Project Management Professional) or equivalent certification preferred.
- Additional certifications in Grid Automation or related technologies are a plus.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in project management tools and software (e.g., MS Project, Jira).
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to travel to customer sites and offices as required by the project plan (around 20%)

Relocation Assistance Provided: No
For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $114,100.00 and $190,200.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set.
Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
