Senior Engineer - HA Turbine Rotor
Job Description Summary
The Senior Engineer is responsible for the design, analysis, manufacturing of HA Turbine Rotor hardware, and work to improve/streamline methods used in module. Additional responsibilities include working with the Cross Functional Engineering teams and Global Supply Chain teams; supporting and qualifying hardware; supporting and performing Rotor Life Extension (RLE), Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Corrective/ Preventative action (CAPA), Multi-year agreements (MYA), Product Cost-out (PCO), and Pivot-to-Value (PTV) activities with partner organizations.
The Turbine Rotor Senior Engineer also ensures that hardware will meet Product and Design Practice requirements, by working closely with the Controlled Title Holders, Heat Transfer, Manufacturing, and Sourcing Teams on component and sub-system optimizations.
Job Description
Role & Responsibilities
- Execute the design or evaluation of Turbine rotor hardware using sound engineering practices and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements.
- Work cross functionally with manufacturing to provide dispositions and potential solutions for challenges during the manufacturing cycle, based on design expertise and knowledge of static hardware field experience.
- Provide guidance and technical direction to others on the team, sharing best practices and the latest methods.
- Participate and present in formal and informal technical reviews for all design tasks and output with Controlled Title Holders, following the documented NPI and RCA Processes.
- Maintain broad awareness of efforts within the team to assure technical quality excellence, timely completion of work and reviews, appropriate use of resources, and responsiveness to customer / program needs.
- Communicate technical issues within Turbine Module team and with interfacing organizations such as Clearances, Aerodynamics, Heat Transfer, Manufacturing, Sourcing, Suppliers, Materials Engineering, Systems Engineering, and Customer Service Engineering.
- Promote professional growth through coaching and mentoring.

Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering / Science from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 12 years of professional experience in Mechanical Engineering or a related Engineering / Science field).
- Minimum of 8 years Engineering Experience
- GE HA Turbine Rotor Life Extension design & analysis experience

- Experience with solid modeling and FEA software tools like ANSYS and NX.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $111,200.00 and $185,400.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set.
Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
