Senior Engineer - Acoustics H/F
Job Description Summary
Within the team Plant Operability & Design the Acoustic Engineers are responsible for managing all aspects of plant acoustic engineering during technical bid preparation, project execution, and R&D activities. This sub-team supports compliance with customer and regulatory noise requirements by performing plant noise studies, preparing acoustic specifications, supporting plant arrangement development, and providing acoustic expertise across internal and external stakeholders.

Roles and Responsibilities:
Within this team, the Senior Acoustic Engineer will predominantly become the subject matter expert for the European market but will also involve in US or ASIA related questions. He/she has the concept and design responsibility for plant acoustic engineering activities. For projects in the bidding as well as execution phase, he/she is required to consider project-specific contractual and regulatory acoustic requirements and align them with customers, partners, suppliers, and project teams.

The Senior Acoustic Engineer has the technical and time schedule responsibility for his/her engineering work and services, which includes:
- Analyzing customer and regulatory acoustic requirements
- Performing plant noise studies to ensure compliance with near-field and far-field noise requirements
- Writing acoustic specifications for products and BOP equipment
- Evaluating existing site conditions and supporting the development of plant arrangement with acoustic considerations
- Writing the noise-related chapters of contracts and consortium agreements and participating in technical negotiations
- Interfacing with customers, partners, suppliers, commercial/sales teams, engineering departments, and other GE Vernova teams
- Participating in design reviews
- Providing acoustic expertise to suppliers, partners, and other GE Vernova teams
- Checking contractual noise test procedures
- Performing acoustic measurements on site in case of noise exceedance or to validate new equipment or suppliers
In addition, this role has a particular focus on the following responsibilities:
- Providing technical leadership and subject matter expertise in acoustic engineering across bidding, execution, and R&D activities
- Supporting the development and continuous improvement of acoustic engineering methods, tools, and best practices
- Contributing to cross-functional project teams to ensure acoustic requirements are considered in products, systems and overall plant design
- Supporting resolution of acoustic issues through technical analysis, coordination, and practical mitigation solutions
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering with specialization in Acoustics & Vibration from an accredited university or college
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in industrial acoustics
- Fluent in English, both oral and written
