SEA Region Field Service Manager
Job Description Summary
The Field Service Manager is responsible for leading and managing field service operations for Transmission & Distribution (T&D) equipment and systems. Based in Singapore, this role oversees the planning, coordination, and execution of field service activities to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with customer, quality, and regulatory requirements.
Working closely with Project Management, Engineering, Supply Chain, Tendering, Sales, and customers, the Field Service Manager drives operational excellence, optimizes resource utilization, develops field service teams, and ensures the highest standards of safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Lead and manage field service operations, ensuring safe, timely, and high-quality execution of site activities.
- Plan and optimize field resources, including Field Service Engineers (FSEs), tools, equipment, and manpower.
- Monitor mob/de-mob of resources according to project schedules, budgets, and resource utilization to ensure successful project delivery.
- Provide technical and operational support to field teams and resolve site issues promptly.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and environmental, health, safety, and quality (EHSQ) standards.
- Collaborate with Project Management, Engineering, Supply Chain, Tendering, Sales teams, Immigration specialist to support project execution.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships by managing communications and resolving service-related issues.
- Identify project risks and implement appropriate mitigation and contingency plans.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of site documentation, reports, and timesheets.
- Coach and develop field personnel through performance management and continuous learning.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and service delivery.
- Identify additional service opportunities and support the management of variation orders (VOs) and claims.
Key Accountabilities
- Deliver field service projects safely, on time, and within budget.
- Plan and manage field resources, tools & equipments, workforce, and workload effectively.
- Key user of Field Service related systems e.g. ServiceMax, Dispatch Console, Quality Suites & etc.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and maintain the competency of field service teams.
- Support Project Managers with project planning, scheduling, and site risk assessments.
- Provide technical and operational support to Tendering and Sales teams.
- Drive customer satisfaction and identify business growth opportunities.
- Own & drive business transactions including PR issuance, interco order bookings for cross borders mobilization & rental tools and subsequent billings
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
- 5-10 years' experience supervising work teams and in a similar position within the Transmission & Distribution (T&D) industry.
- Business understanding, including market knowledge within the area of work and international exposure.
- General knowledge of Transmission & Distribution systems.
- Knowledge of GIS, AIS+GCB and Transformer equipment
- Knowledge of electrical regulations.
- Knowledge of financial metrics incl. costing & estimation
- Knowledge of immigration for cross border
- Willingness to travel to customer sites as required.
