Job Description Summary
The Project Engineer for Digital Control Systems (DCS) is responsible for the technical execution and delivery of SCADA and digital control system projects. Acting as the primary technical contact for customers, this role involves configuring SCADA systems, designing communication network architectures, and integrating protection and control equipment using protocols such as IEC 61850, Modbus, OPC, EGD, and IEC 104. The Project Engineer collaborates closely with project management, engineering, manufacturing, service, procurement, and tendering teams to ensure successful project outcomes.
Key responsibilities include the configuration and integration of system components, support for project management activities (including validation and FAT testing), documentation review, and ongoing process improvement. The Project Engineer is accountable for on-time delivery, operational performance, margin improvement, and customer satisfaction, while contributing to departmental and regional continuous improvement initiatives.

- Project engineer of digital control systems, DCS. Execute projects in collaboration with project engineering departments (CCS, Consulting, Service), Project Management , procurements, tender & other support functions
- Be prime technical customer contact for the execution of the project
- SCADA system configuration (screens, equipment integration, communication protocols, digital/analog signals, events, alarms)
- Design of communication network architecture and configuration Communication protocols IEC 61850 Modbus, OPC, EGD, 104
- Configuration of protection equipment and Control at logical and communications level.
- Support in project management (internal validation tests, FAT tests, creation, documentation review)
- Coordination with different departments (manufacturing, services, tendering).
- Be accountable for On time delivery, project operating , margins improvement and customer satisfaction.
- Process continuous improvement. Contribute to operations department development & South Europe Region continuous improvement
- Support comercial team by return of experience, optimizing project cost & deliveries
- Follow GE compliance Policies and promote open reporting

Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Understanding of systems, networks, and communications
- IT-oriented mindset with a proactive approach to learning and applying new technologies.
- Previous experience in programming, with proficiency in one or more languages such as VBA (Visual Basic for Applications), Python, C, JavaScript, or similar. Familiarity with PLC programming
- Demonstrated ability to apply programming skills to optimize processes, automate tasks, and develop internal tools.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Knowledge of Electricity Transmission, Distribution & Industrial markets
- Intermediate or advanced Excel
- Languages: Fully Fluent in English and Spanish.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skill with a strong customer focus and ability to cooperate with different departments
- Willing to travel around 30%
Desired Characteristics:
- Knowledge of electrical system operation
- Experience with database creation and management-Microsoft Access-is highly desirable
- Experience in electrical communication protocols (e.g., IEC 61850, IEC 104, IEC 103, Modbus, DNP, or other contemporary standards like OPC, EGD etc,)
