About the Role
In this role, you'll help build GE Vernova's renewable energy future by leading the development of wind and battery energy storage (BESS) projects across North America. You'll manage a portfolio of projects from early concept through Notice to Proceed (NTP), working closely with internal teams, external partners, and key stakeholders to move projects forward and unlock new growth opportunities.
Job Description
What You'll Do
1. Manage the Development Pipeline
- Own and advance a portfolio of Wind/BESS projects through key milestones (permits, GIA, land control, PPA, NTP, etc.).
- Lead communication with partners and stakeholders to keep projects on track.
- Represent GE Vernova on partnership Management Committees.
- Manage internal approvals to ensure alignment with GE Vernova Financial Services and Onshore Wind strategy.
- Coordinate deal execution activities and support creation of all required project and investment documentation.
- Evaluate project economics and build business cases to support investment decisions and development spend.
2. Originate and Grow New Opportunities
- Support origination of new project platforms by managing due diligence on project portfolios and assisting with JV structuring.
- Support acquisitions by assessing development status, business cases, and strategic fit with Onshore Wind and BESS priorities.
- Help identify new markets and opportunities, and support diligence and structuring to meet long-term growth goals.
3. Collaborate Across the Business
- Partner with engineering, finance, environmental, and legal teams to align on project scope, risks, and execution plans.
- Ensure all teams are coordinated and working toward shared development milestones.
4. Navigate Regulatory & Permitting Requirements
- Manage permitting and compliance processes across diverse North American markets.
- Ensure projects meet local, state/provincial, and regional regulatory requirements.
5. Build Strong Relationships
- Develop and maintain relationships with co-developers, utilities, internal business units, and other project participants.
- Foster a collaborative environment and strong connections across GE Vernova.
6. Improve Development Tools & Processes
- Help build and refine development tools, templates, and processes that move projects from early-stage through NTP.
What You'll Bring (Required Qualifications)
- 10+ years of experience in renewable energy development, with a strong focus on wind; additional technology experience (e.g., BESS) is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math), Environmental, Financial, or related field discipline (preferred).
- 5+ years of proven success delivering North American renewable energy projects from early-stage development through NTP.
What Will Help You Succeed (Desired Characteristics)
- Masters of Business Administration (MBA)
- Strong network across the energy sector (developers, utilities, off-takers, regulators, investors).
- Experience with co-development partnerships, M&A, and greenfield development.
- Deep understanding of US renewable energy markets, regulatory frameworks, and permitting; knowledge of Canadian and Mexican markets is a plus.
- Familiarity with JV structuring, fund development, or private equity-backed platforms.
- Strong financial and commercial acumen; comfortable building and challenging business cases.
- Results-driven self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
- Proven ability to build and maintain strategic relationships with key stakeholders.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to operate effectively amid changing market and regulatory conditions.
