Job Description Summary
The ITR R&D Lead Electrical Engineer is accountable for the ITR Technology activities contributing to the design and development of products, solutions and systems. Includes activities linked to technical improvement of existing products and components Responsible for project planning and execution or is focused on execution of professional activities within a technical discipline. Functions with some autonomy but guided by established policies or review of end results. The job allows modification of procedures and practices covering work as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability (quality, volume, timeliness etc.).

Job Description

Essencial Responsibilities

  • Setting the Instrument transformer technology strategy / new product implementations in Instrument transformer based on business vision of Product
  • Participates in the R&D activities within the unit and across global R&D projects within ITR.
  • Identifies manufacturing/engineering deficiencies, proposes solutions and improvements.
  • Responsible for the electrical design of the products manufactured or designed in ITR unit.
  • Ensures that all technical documentation, issued by the Engineering/R&D group, required for the manufacturing and sales of the products (drawings, bill of materials, instructions, manuals, material specifications etc.) is prepared in high quality, efficiently and in a timely manner.
  • Leads the development of new products, improvement, and customization of existing products. Works closely with unit and ITR involved in the development process.
  • Provides technical support in the resolution problems. Leverage advanced expertise to resolve non-conformance issues, lead root-cause investigations, and provide solutions for complex technical requirements.
  • Provides technical guidance to suppliers, working closely with Supply Chain and Sourcing. Supports manufacturing on a daily basis.
  • Supports the sales effort in the preparation of proposals and quotations in terms of review of non-standard requirements.
  • External Representation: Participate in external technical committees (e.g., IEC, Cigre, IEEE) and at professional conferences.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Electrotechnics, Physics, Chemistry.
  • Experience in medium to high voltage apparatus R&D, engineering, HV testing are preferred.
  • Fluent in Portuguese and English
