Job Description Summary
As a PTR Senior Lead Engineer (m/w/d) you are responsible for contributing to the development and design of power transformers and shunt reactors within the Technology Team. In this role, you apply extensive electrical design expertise to support the development of reliable, high-performance products aligned with company and industry standards.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Product development of Medium and Large Power Transformers as well as Shunt reactors
- Lead and participate on design reviews and collaborate with cross-functional teams to address design issues, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Apply DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) to identify potential failure modes and improve design robustness.
- Ensure designs comply with all relevant industry standards and best practices, including but not limited to ISO, IEC, IEEE.
- Ensuring components and assemblies adhere to applicable industry and business standards
- Using specialized software to analyse magnetic circuits, electro-magnetic fields, insulation strength and verification of electrical adequacy of products.
- Promoting PTR wide initiatives related to electrical design quality and reliability.
- Supporting PTR quality initiatives with an important focus on design robustness
- Develop and maintain business relations and effective communication with suppliers, to benefit from their support & to support suppliers in production of quality components.
- Conduct failure analysis using RCA (Root Cause Analysis) to resolve design-related issues effectively.
- Regularly travel to manufacturing units, conferences, and customers.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Demonstrated long-term experience in transformer design and development.
- Strong knowledge of international standards and best practices (ISO, IEC, IEEE) applicable to transformer design.
- Proficiency in CAD tools and familiarity with FEA software for electrical and mechanical design analysis.
- Experience with design validation and failure analysis methodologies (DFMEA, RCA, root cause investigation).
- Solid understanding of transformer performance, including electrical, mechanical, and thermal aspects.
- Ability to develop and optimize designs in compliance with customer requirements and regulatory standards.
- Strong problem-solving skills, analytical mindset, and high attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), with experience collaborating in cross-functional and international environments.
- Proactive, self-motivated professional with strong organizational skills and willingness to travel.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with transformer manufacturing processes.
- Experience managing or participating in international and cross-cultural projects.
- Knowledge of methodologies for new technology and product development.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and professional development
